Burnt Bear Bear!

Was preparing the long bath for Little Arielle to dip in. The foam was already in formation.

I was out of the bathroom doing something when I suddenly realised that Little Arielle is not in sight. I quickly rushed to the bathroom and realised that she was bathing her bear bear. Win liaoz lor. It was all drenched and soaked to the skin with bath foam.

So I quickly snatched the bear bear from her and tried to wring it dry. But there was too much water in it. So I just left it sitting on the sink to let the water drip off. Meanwhile, XP would be bathing her and at the same time playing with her in the bathtub. One of the few chances that she can play in bathtub and especially with foam. As such, she is exceptionally happy!

After her bath, we got ready to meet the others for dinner. So XP found a lamp and placed her bear bear on top of it cos we were hoping that the heat from the lamp will dry her bear bear faster. We left for dinner after that has been taken care of. We wanted to charter for a van to bring us to the nearby pasar malam for dinner and probably some shopping. In the end, the hotel staff din manage to get any van for us. To make things worst, it suddenly rained very heavily. As such, all of us were stuck at the hotel. The contingency plan is to have dinner at the hotel's Chinese restaurant. They were serving ala carte buffet and we were happily eating and chatting away.

About 1 - 2 hours later, we were done with our food and returned back to our hotel room. While I was closing the door, I heard XP saying,"Oh Shit!" I quickly went over and realised that her bear bear's bum was burnt! Blur XP din realise that her bear bear's tail kena the tip of the light bulb. The heat was too hot that it burnt her bear! The beads in her bear melted into gel form and it was really hot. After it was left to cool, the gel solidified and became a lump. It just looks like a human who had a real big and painful pile! The burnt smell was also there. Luckily we were back from dinner. Else, we might have burnt the whole room down or even short-circuit the whole hotel. Little Arielle kept saying,"臭臭, 臭臭"

Sweet Flowery Hairband

It was indeed sweet of Ma Lay to remember Little Arielle even though she was overseas. Hmm, why do I say that leh? Cos she bought a real sweet hairband for her! It's Little Arielle's favourite colour with nice little flowers on it. Beautiful!

Little Arielle's eyes were sharp. She saw it in my bag even though I got a lot of other things in it. She quickly pulled it out from my bag and happily put it on!

Last Journey on the Infant Seat

XP has finally found a car seat that he likes and feels that it is suitable for Little Arielle. Oh, that means that her infant seat would be replaced. This infant seat was given by my good colleague - Stephanie. We did some repair to it (replacing the sponge in the seat) as it has already worn out. I remembered we paid about $5 for it. Other than that, the seat was still in good working condition.

How time flies, the seat has been with Little Arielle for 2 years! Well, she was supposed to "upgrade" to the child seat long ago but because she was most of the time sitting on my lap instead of being in her infant seat, we delayed getting a new one for her. It was because of the upcoming Malaysia drive that kinda of "forced" XP to get one for her.

So long, infant seat! Would miss you and can't bear to have you replaced! Until I have a second one (hopefully), else you would probably have to stay in the storeroom for a while! Hope we can see you soon....

It's Health Screening Day!

I have registered myself, papa and mama for today's health screening. Missed doing so for them last year cos I din know that they allow immediate family members of staff to be included in the screening. Anyway, nevermind, at least I managed to do it for them this year.

I registered late. As such, I din managed to get the 1st slot for the screen which is at 8.30am. In the end, what I got was at 10am. As both my parents would be going for the screen, it would be best if I could have the earliest slot cos Little Arielle would be following us around.

In the end, what I have decided to do is to pick them up from Tampines at the usual time that I send Little Arielle over. Proceed to office first and we will try our luck to see if they are able to accomodate us if we go at 8.30am. In this way, my parents dun have to travel down to my office on their own. But, if they are unable to accomodate us, then they would have to roam around until the appointed time. I have already thought of using Little Arielle as the shield to include us in if they really dun allow.

We reached office at about 7.15am. Too bad we were not allowed to eat cos we gotta fast for the health screening. Else, it would be easier to pass time. So all of us just stayed put in XP's office first until it's almost time for us to go down.

So while waiting, I just took the chance to take some pic! Hahaha, like that also can hor!

It's almost 8.15am. I decided to go down earlier so that got better chance of including us in. Wat biangz, got a shock when I reached the basement cos there were already tons of people sitting in the queue. In the end, I found out that the earliest time slot is actually 8am and not 8.30am. Alamak, blur me leh! If I knew, then we wouldn't have wasted so much time waiting in XP's office liaoz!

Forget it, what's done cannot be undone! So I just gave everything to the person in charge for registration. Hengz ah, they do take us in even though we are scheduled for a later time slot and that also means that we can take our breakfast earlier hee!

The checks consist of a few stations. First, we would be tested on our eyesight. Thereafter, we would register to indicate whether we want to just take the complimentary health screen or we would like to pay to get a more thorough check-up. Daddy took the middle package and mama took the executive one. As for me, I just took the complimentary package. Thereafter, we were required to take our blood pressure, weight and height. Daddy and mama proceed to collect their urine for the test while I continued with the blood extraction for the blood test.

While doing all these, we still gotta keep our eyes on Little Arielle. I just let her roam about since everyone around is 自己人 and so it is relatively safe. Some colleagues even assist to play with her and took care of her while we were engaged. I realised that she is the only kid around my parents were the only outsider. Some of them din even know that they can include their parents in. Hee, the mistake that I made last year - din check properly. Thanks to all who have helped in entertaining Little Arielle that made the whole health screening a smooth one for us!

After the screen, there was light refreshments provided. Little Arielle was also seen busi eating and carrying the food around. She was well-liked by everyone and they all love to give her things. Buay tahan!

Day 2 @ Ritz

How shiok to be staying in a hotel! Dun have to care about the place being messy cos there would be someone to clear up for you. Best of all, you can dip in the bathtub for as long as you like!

But sad to say, this treatment ain't gonna last for long cos we would be checking out today.

Nevermind, let's make full use of today and we will be back for more!

We had MacDonald breakfast and it's Little Arielle's first time eating Mac kids' breakfast meal. Hmm, but seems like she doesn't really like the taste of hotcakes. Hee hee, perhaps it's because I din put any of the honey syrup or butter for her. So too bad, she can just play with her toy and balloon.

Since it's our last day at Ritz, we wanna fully ultilise the room and thus, we went back to the hotel after breakfast. Before going up to the room, we went to the front desk to enquire on the check-out time. We wanted to extend cos we wanna finish watching F1 before going home. However, we received news that they are running full house and as such, the latest time for us to check out would be 1pm.

Wonderful Ritz Stay!

The day that we have been looking forward to has arrived!! It's the Ritz Carlton Stay that has been on my mind for the longest time! Thanks to the Marriott talk that we attended which made the stay today possible! Best of all, it's complimentary!!

Thinking back, it has been a good 5 years + since we last stayed in Ritz Carlton. The reason why we stayed in Ritz Carlton 5 years ago is because we had our ROM ceremony there and they gave us a complimentary stay in their bridal suite. Wow, that was the time I fell deeply in love with their bathtub! You will know what I mean when you check out the pics later!

Anyway, going back to our stay. We were straight to Ritz after we had our breakfast at about 11am+. Only packed our stuff this very morning at about 9am+. Was too lazy to get it done last night. Think the usual check in time is about 3pm but luckily they have rooms for us and so, we managed to check in at about 12pm. We were given a room at the 24th floor. That sounds shiok as the highest floor is 31st. So ours is considered as high.

Little Arielle was more excited than anyone else! Was really affected by her excitement and felt very excited too! Once we were out of the lift, she saw the floating platform and was very happy. We directed her to the room and she was running around happily once she got in.

She went around checking out the bed, the sofa, the view from the window and of course the bathroom too. Took quite a number of pics and thereafter decided to take a nap before we wake up for our "late lunch". As we were given a king sized bed, it was so spacious for the 3 of us compared to our own queen bed where I was always kicked by Little Arielle! The feeling is just wonderful! But the unfortunate thing was that the bed was so high that Little Arielle fell as she was coming down from the bed. Luckily it was not a major one as she just lost her balance when coming down. In any case, this made us want to get a baby cot for her.

We woke up and were out of the room at about 3pm+. Went to the front desk first to get them to arrange for her baby cot while we were out. XP told the staff about her falling off the bed. The staff was nice to ask if we require any further assistance.

The first shopping mall that we went in was Marina Square. Din like the place eversince it changed image. Anyway, saw Kenny Rogers - one of the restaurant that I have not patronised for a long time. So XP decided to go there for our lunch. Wow, they have changed to table order instead of the previous self-serve arrangement. Their side dishes were served in separate bowls instead of having everything in 1 plate. But, what is bad is that they do not serve water. Well, it was still a satisfying lunch. After lunch, we walked around while waiting for XP's friend to arrive. He's supposed to check in to Ritz as well!

We went from Marina Square to Suntec and met up his friend at the Burger King in Suntec. That was about 7pm+. Forced ourselves to eat a bit cos we will not be coming out for dinner later. XP bought the kids meal so that Little Arielle will get to have a toy. She was happy playing with the King hat!

Decided to get some drinks from 7-11 before we head back to our hotel room. While I was busy choosing my items, I din notice what Little Arielle was doing. When I was looking around for her, I saw her taking sweets from one of the containers and she immediately popped it into her mouth when she saw me coming. Those sweets are the ones that you pay based on their weight. She was lucky that we were not asked to pay for it. Guessed what, moments later, she spat everything out! She stuffed a total of 4 pieces of sweets in her mouth. No wonder her mouth couldn't take it! Made me busy by having to clean up her mess!! Arrgghhhh!!!

Was back at the room at about 8pm+. Saw a table with 4 men sitting right outside our room. Din feel at ease with these men there and din know why they were there in the first place. Best of all, the room door wasn't soundproof and we can hear them talking and laughing away.

The baby cot was already prepared for Little Arielle when we came back. It was nice of them to include a pack of Pigeon's travel pack which consists of powder, shampoo, soap, bath lotion and baby lotion. This pack easily cost more than $15 cos we bought the same pack early in this year when we went for our Japan tour! Little Arielle was excited again cos she thought that there would be a baby sleeping in the cot and kept asking me baby where?? Haha, she is the baby lor! Placed her inside and she was having fun in it. Hopefully she would still like it cos I would fix up her baby cot in our new house! Was peeping over at the cot when something sharp caught my eyes! It's a staple bullet! Got the shock of my life as I was surprised to find that in the cot. Quickly removed it from her cot and went through a thorough check to ensure that there is only 1. Was lucky that Little Arielle wasn't pricked by it. Wanted to make a complain but XP said forget it.

Was lazing around but got annoyed by those guys outside our room. Seems like they would be there indefinitely! Got irritated and decided to call the front desk to ask them the reason for their existence! Was surprised that the staff said they din know why were there men outside my room and said that they would get someone to check it out. Moments later, our doorbell rang. XP opened the door and these 2 hotel staff requested to speak to him in private and wanted to come into the room. Wat seh, sounds serious leh!! Finally, gotta know that there is a foreign minister staying right opposite our room and these men outside were his bodyguards. No wonder, they have been there for the whole day. Okie lor, we got extra security!

Went for a good hot bath and was enjoying the beautiful night view from the bathroom window. So shiok until I forgot to take pic of the night scene. Hmm, does it mean it is reserved for my next stay here hahahaha!

Thought that Little Arielle would be sleeping after my bath but I was wrong. She stood up immediately when she saw me walking out of the bathroom. It was only when I was lying next to her that she would fall asleep. After a while, XP carried her to her cot. We watched the silly Amazing Race Asia and went to sleep after that cannot make it show! What a waste of my time!

In XP's Office

We have already picked Little Arielle up and were on the way back home. Who knows, half way through the journey, XP was being "summoned" back to office. He had wanted to send us back first but thought that since we have yet to reach home, might as well follow him to office so that he don't have to ferry us here and there. Moreover, he mentioned that he would not be staying long in office.

As such, both of us followed him. Little Arielle was very excited and kept running here and there. Only XP's boss and one of his colleague were around cos it was already 6pm+ when we reached.

Ring Ring

It's Little Arielle on the line asking me for presents. After talking for a while, she suddenly broke into tears and kept asking for me! She said,"I want mummy". Aiyo, she sounded so pitiful over the phone leh. Next she said she wanna follow mummy and dun wan her po po! Arrghhh, at that moment, I feel like being a SAHM!!

Greetings from Australia!

The gift has finally arrived! It has travelled miles from Australia to Singapore! It has contained the sincerity from Mama Tong! She told me some time ago that she would be sending Little Arielle's birthday gift from Australia. Already told her that it's okie cos she would be busy settling down in a foreign country and postal charges would be expensive too.

However, she still insist to have it sent out. Have waited for the item for the past few days as I was afraid that it might be lost in the mail. Finally, the item came today!

Welcome to the World....

Hello Baby Lucas! Welcome to this world on 01 Oct - Children's Day! This is supposed to be my EDD 2 years ago but Little Arielle din like this date and prefers to come out on 5th Oct instead. Probably she knows that her daddy loves this number so much! Which is why eversince then, she has been her daddy's 掌上明珠! Okie, back to Baby Lucas....

After returning home from Little Arielle's jab, I quickly got mama to feed her porridge while I prepared her stuff as we would be meeting Joanne at 1.30pm. The meet is to visit Astin and Baby Lucas! After her porridge, she had a dose of the fever medication so that she would not develop fever after her jab. Got her changed and managed to reach MRT station on time.

Finally reached Astin's place at 2pm+. Little Arielle was still quite well-behaved in the train. Havent seen newborns for a while. So cute leh! And they look so small! Check out the pics!

Since this is Little Arielle's first visit to Astin's house, she must poo there lor. So I cleaned her up, fed her milk and thereafter we left. Stopped over at MacDonald as I was too hungry. After a quick bite, we were on our way home. Little Arielle was so tired that it din take long before she fell asleep in my arms without me knowing. Was curious why she suddenly stopped moving around and then found out that she was fast asleep!

An Important & Expensive Jab

Finally it's time for Little Arielle to take this important jab. Hmm, since it is important, how come I have waited this long leh? Bo pian leh! This sickening jab is damn expensive! Total damage today is $157. Little Arielle only requires 1 jab if she takes it after 24 months. So I purposely let her take the jab today hee! Any earlier would means the child would have to take more than 1 jab. So you can imagine how costly it can get. Pity those children in the poor families. How would they be able to afford such an expensive jab? Government should do something to bring down the cost leh! Since they always say that it is such an important jab! Anyway talk so much liaoz still havent say what jab is it hor. Some of you would have guessed it. It's pneumococcal. One reason for delaying the jab is also because Little Arielle have yet to attend school and so the risk of getting it would be lower than other kids. Anyway, since she has taken it now, it's another load off my mind. Next jab to target would be chickenpox.

Okie, now to talk about the encounter at the clinic:

XP drove us to my mama's house as per the usual time. Took a short nap before waking up for breakfast and thereafter we headed straight to the clinic. Reached there at about 9.05am and there were already 3 persons in front of us. Oh no. Nevermind then! Dr Ho was still not in at 9.45am and those 3 in front of us were all waiting for her. Best of all, along came in a few newborns! Best liaoz! It's gonna be a long wait. Took her weight which is 11kg, height at 84cm and width of head is 48.5cm. At last, she is showing signs of growth. Finally, she arrived at 10am and she immediately called the 1st number. While waiting, we saw Gearoid and Marcus. What a coincidence! Not bad, Gearoid can still remember my name and my looks hahaha! Anyway, we got in at 11am and here's what happen in the clinic:

Dr Ho said that I was very bad to let Little Arielle took the injection straight after her birthday. First thing that Little Arielle asked from Dr Ho is sweets! She was given a pneumococcal bear probably for taking this jab hee! Hmm, I wonder anymore bears if she's gonna take her chickenpox jab? Hahaha!

Cake Cutting Ceremony - Birthday Celebration Part 2

XP and I went over to mama's place at about 6pm+. Little Arielle was already at their house cos she din wanna come along with us after the brunch session.

We went to collect her birthday cake at Century Square and bought some drinks back. WJ was already impatient cos he needs to rush off for another appointment.

Little Arielle was excited when I opened up and showed her her birthday cake. Was quite disappointed as I thought that the cake would be hand-drawn instead of it being like a sticker form. Anyway, if XP agrees, we would hold a birthday cum housewarming session when Little Arielle is 3. Hopefully he would agree cos I would be able to get a bigger and nicer cake for Little Arielle. Well, back to the cake. Other than it being not really that nice in appearance, find that the taste is not fantastic too. The person still asked me to add $6 to have it as a truffle. It meant one layer of cake and one layer of chocolate. Imagine if I din pay more, the taste could be worst! Anyway, lesson learnt!

After cleaning up the messy gal, we headed off to Jasmine's house in Punggol where I used to stay there. Kinda of miss those days that I was staying there. Well, unknowingly, we have been staying in my PIL's place for 1 year. Soon, we would be moving out to our new house. Wonder what would the feeling be like?

Well, back to Ocean's birthday bash! Saw some ex and existing colleagues there. Ate our food, chit chat with one another while waiting for the cake cutting ceremony. Jasmine bought a real cute cake for Ocean. It's a pic of a jumper suit! Everyone gathered, sang the birthday song and cut the cake. We went off after eating a piece of it. Happy birthday once again! May you grow up healthy and strong!

My 1st Birthday Present

It was a pleasant surprise early in the morning when Doris handled Little Arielle's birthday present to me. She did mention it sometime ago that she got a gift for her but it simply slipped off my mind. Hahaha, the first gift actually came from an outsider!


Was really happy to receive something for her even though the gift is not for me! Will keep the item until her birthday before we open all her presents!

Sat Alone

Most of the time, when Little Arielle is sitting in her car seat, I would have to follow suit and sit behind.

Tried to do it differently today and I sat in the passenger seat while she is alone in the back seat. She was obedient throughout the journey with occasion hiccups whereby she wanna get out of her seat. After some coaxing, she was okie again.

Will continue with this arrangement so that I can be back in my passenger seat for good hee!

A Real Boring Day

Cannot believe that we actually stayed home the whole day! What a way to spend the Public Holiday and Children's Day! It's really boring lor. Din go out cos basically there is nowhere in mind that we wanna go.

Must be because we were too "luan" at home until XP and I kena headache for no reason!

In the end, decided to bring Little Arielle down to the pool side for a walk and breathe some fresh air.

After the short stay next to the poolside, I was feeling much better. Probably because of the following entertainment!

However, shortly after, Little Arielle irritated both of us until we cannot take it liaoz! So we took turns to lock her in the dark toilet. She was scared stiff! Must have something to scare her else she would always climb over our heads. Kids nowadays are really difficult to handle!
