I Love Studying!

I was surfing the net and Little Arielle kept popping over and she brought along her little book with her. She kept pushing her book to me and finally I got the hint that she wanted me to test her!

Hmm, not bad leh she can know most of the items in the book! Was happy that she loves to read it and hopefully this good habit will follow her through....

Free Flashcards!

I had previously ordered some flashcards from this BP organiser - GoldenEagle. My orders were 1 Sesame Street Numbers 1-20 and 1 Sesame Street ABC. However, what was received was Dora . I was puzzled and emailed the organiser only to find out from her that she has accidentally sent over the wrong item to me.

Was waiting for her reply as to how she wants me to send back the wrong item. While waiting, Little Arielle became very interested in the Dora flashcards. I only told her once that that cartoon character is known as Dora, she immediately registered that in her mind. Eversince that day, she always ask for the Dora flashcards which I refused to give it to her cos it might be someone else's order.

Finally, the organiser replied and said that to apologise for the inconvenience caused, she would resend the correct flashcard to me and she allowed me to keep the wrong order.

So Little Arielle is very lucky lor! She got to keep her Dora flashcards too hee!

ABC!

Was trying to teach Little Arielle these 3 alphabets and it took me almost 15 minutes to get her to remember leh! XP was saying that Little Arielle is being playful and does not take it seriously. That's why she kept forgetting it.

Aiyo, will try and test her again to see if she remembers it tomorrow!!

Excellent Pics!

I specially chose this date for my studio pic as it is a unique date (080808). As such, I had booked my photographer about 2 months back! I started packing some of the props and Little Arielle's clothes last night for today's session. Packed half way and was very tired so went to bed instead!

So I had to wake up at about 7.30am just to prepare everything. Luckily I woke up this early as I din realised that I took about 1 hour to get everything done! Thereafter, went to pick mama, had a expensive breakfast - $5.50 for a bowl of prawn noodle! XP says that this is a famous prawn noodle called Beach Road Prawn Noodle. Well, to me, I din think it was really that nice, average only lor! But was too hungry to have any pic taken hee!

We took a while to locate Ben's studio. But luckily we were only late for 5 minutes. Quickly got Little Arielle ready for it and she was the first one to have her pictures taken. The whole session lasted for an hour and it was indeed a tiring one! Other than changing for her, we already had to try to make her laugh and it was really not easy as she had little patience today :(!

Even though so, as I was looking through the 100 over pictures earlier on, almost 100% of it was nicely done! Though we did not manage to go beyond 200 pic, but what was important was that each pic was nicely taken! Great job ben! Will sure go to you if I have a second one hee!

Enjoy the pics:

Oh, what does that few numbers mean?

It's 08 Aug 2008! Well, the next time we can see such a combination of numbers would be probably in 30xx!! As such, must definitely document this special day down!

It's a special day today cos it's the opening ceremony of Beijing Olympics and of course the $8 million TOTO draw!!

A lot of couples decided to get married today even though we are in the 7th month ~ Hungry Ghost Festival! A few babies were born today too! One even chose a good time of 12.08am hee!

So, how did I "celebrate" this date? Check out my next few posts!

The Spree Starts Again!

My hands have not been itchy for a long time or probably I kept telling myself that the stuff is not nice hee. Anyway, I think it has been almost a month since I last bought items online! Today, I started my online spreeing again! Yeah! Well, of course it's for Little Arielle again!

Decided to get her some pyjamas! She has outgrown most of it and to support Mama Tong's BP, I proceeded with the purchase of Gap sleepwear!

Nice mah??

Aiyo, of course din buy all lah! I bought 2 sets - L09 and initially L45. Then subsequently, Mama Tong called and inform me that L45 dun have Little Arielle's size liaoz! So in the end, I end up taking L43. Not the best choice but okie lah, can still make do with it lor!

Well, L09 is because she is born in 2006 hee! Looking forward to the items!

Great Savings

if you are breastfeeding! Hmm, was listening to the 10pm news and this particular news caught my attention!

Great savings if you breastfeed your baby for at least 6 months. The savings that you would get is about $710. Wow, that's a lot to me lor! Not bad leh, din know that I have saved so much the other time when I breastfeed Little Arielle. She was on total breastfeeding for 8 months. Din managed to stretch on further cos my breast decided to stop production liaoz! Milk flow became so miserable until I pumped until frustrated. Perhaps it's due to work stress and tiredness that resulted in low flow.

Will try to keep up with breastfeeding and will aim to do so for a longer period if I have a second one! Breastfeeding is really good for your child! If you are hesistanthing whether you want to breastfeed or not, do not need to think anymore! Just do it!!

A Mind of their Own

I was complaining to my colleague, Stef about Little Arielle's behaviour. She mentioned that children nowadays have a mind of their own and they want to make their own decisions. I was shocked to hear that as Little Arielle is barely 2 years old. If she wants to make her own decisions now, I cannot imagine what she wants to do next as she grows older....sighh....

Anyway, XP was reflecting on his reaction that day towards Little Arielle for not wanting to wear her pyjamas. He mentioned that he should not have allowed her to change out of her pyjamas cos in the end, it made it more difficult for her to wear the next piece of pyjamas. Anyway, he said until he majiam really make it lor cos talk is cheap mah. So I decided to let him try it out tonight.

It was after a long struggle that he managed to get her dressed. But shortly after, she repeats her same sentence again,"I dun wan shirt, I dun wan shirt already!" Alamak, also dun noe what is wrong with her leh? Initially, when we asked her why she dun wan shirt, she says that it is very hot. But the aircon is on and the pyjamas is not thick at all. So we all concluded that she is just throwing tantrums. Please let her forget about this and dun repeat the same thing every night!

Devil in Disguise

That was the last draw! XP couldn't take it and started screaming at Little Arielle. She really made the both of us MAD!!!

I had actually changed her diaper for her and XP assisted her to put on her pyjamas. Soon, she was ready for bed. However, it wasn't long before she starts to throw tantrums and kept saying,"Dun want shirt", which means she doesn't want to wear her pyjamas! She kept crying and repeating it until I got no choice and told her that I will change into another piece for her. So I asked if she is okie to wear Simba? She initially agreed but after second thoughts, she doesn't want it again.

I actually told XP to let her be and will only put on for her when she is asleep. But he refused as he is afraid that Little Arielle will catch a cold (cos the air-con was on). So as he forced her to wear, she was kicking away, screaming and crying. XP tried to talk to her nicely but seems like soft words has fallen on deaf ears. She die die refused to wear! Wat biangz what a stubborn one!

So in the end, XP was so fed up that he kept shouting and screaming at her. I had to intervene cos Little Arielle seems to be scared stiff. Quickly carried her over and of course she still refused to wear the pyjamas. Finally, she told me that she wanted to wear the other pants. I gotta search for another long sleeved top and asked her if she wants to wear that or not? It's only when she agrees to it, then I am able to put it on for her. Wat biangz, I almost died lor!

Then next, she kept asking for water. So gave her water and told her to apologise to her daddy. She refused to do so and kept saying,"Daddy, go away" I wonder if she is asking her daddy to go away because he has scolded her or is it because her daddy has asked her to go away when he was scolding her. Anyway, she was very stubborn! No matter how many times I told her to apologise, she simply refused! I was angry and asked her to go away and she started to cry. So when I carried her over and asked her to apologise to her daddy, she apologised to me instead! Alamak!

So finally, when XP has cooled down, he took the initiative to talk to Little Arielle and in a few moments time, they hit it off well again, majiam nothing has happened! Win liaoz lor! They were happily sleeping together and when I came over, Little Arielle asked me to go away! Very good! Kicked me one side after she was "reunited" with her daddy.

Couldn't bother myself with them and I went off to sleep! Jiat lard leh, dun noe if she is gonna behave like this for the next few days! Crossing my fingers....

Cold Storage?

I'm not referring to the Cold Storage supermarket but rather, talking about Little Arielle. Just realised that she has developed a new habit today and too bad it's a bad one! Well, talk so much liaoz still dun noe what talking me right?

Basically, what I am trying to say is that she now likes to store her food in her mouth and doesn't want to swallow it! Sounds like "cold storage" right?

Saw her doing it for the first time when I was feeding her noodles. I hope that it's the first and last time lor!

Dun understand why they like to do that leh? Is it because good food are meant to be savoured and so it must be kept in the mouth for a longer period of time? Well, I dun noe....

Terrible Two

I think in my case, it is happening earlier lor! Little Arielle would only be turning 2 in about 2 months time but it seems like she is already difficult to handle! All the symptoms of rebellious and not listening to us is appearing!

She is driving us CRAZY!! Jiat lard leh, really dun noe how to handle her. She can cry over a very small issue as long as we did not give in to her.

Aiyo, anyone got any tips to share?

Colour Sense

Although I have taught Little Arielle how to differentitate colours but she always gives me the wrong answer! Well, she has surprised me today but being able to differentiate the colours of the door stopper! One is pink and the other is blue! Way to go, little one....

A Peaceful Morning

Actually, I think I kind of contributed to her morning crank for the past 2 days. Instead of the usual practise whereby I just carry her up, I said,"Mummy going already, 小宝贝." Upon hearing this, Little Arielle will start to wake up and walk towards me. I will then carry her to the car. During this time, she would more or less open her eyes and does not wanna sleep anymore liaoz. If I did not wake her up, she would sleep through the journey until she reached my mama's house.

So, I would be super busy in the car cos when she is not sleeping, she would be fidgeting around. This is what we call,"活该!"

So, to learn from my mistake, I did not disturb her and ta da, I got a peaceful morning hee!

The Morning "Crank"

It has been a while since Little Arielle kicks up a fuss early in the morning. It happened yesterday and it did again this morning.

She doesn't want me to carry her and she would say things like,"Go away and dun want!" Alamak, so heart-breaking to hear her say such things early in the morning leh! Although, it may seems to be some common words but I just felt upset to hear it coming from your own child.

So bo pian lor, try not to touch her and let her stay in whichever position that she felt comfortable with. But it was not long that she became cranky again. She wants to go over to the driver's seat and let her daddy carries her instead which is not possible cos he is driving lor.

Luckily, we reached mama's house in a few moments' time. Thought that she would easily let mama carry her cos she asked me to go away initially right. But, I was wrong. She also din wan mama to carry her and wants her daddy instead.

So XP gotta coax her into allowing mama to carry her. Although mama managed to carry her, she cried when we said goodbye to her. So XP gotta coax her again and this time round, he said that he would bring her for durians tomorrow. This greedy one nodded her head to acknowledge but tears rolled down when the car moved off. We got no time to pacify her further so we just drove off. But I guessed she would be happy again when she sees her 公公!

Japan Again?

Recently, XP expressed his interest to visit Osaka again in view of the good airfare promotion. I am neutral in this aspect. Dun noe if wanna go or not??

Anyway, he was asking Little Arielle whether she wants to go or not. Initially, she said,"No!". But after XP's temptation, she said,"Yes!"

Hmm, must be wondering what did he say that tempted her right hee!

He said you want Japan strawberry?? Then Little Arielle started going around and said,"Go Japan, go Japan...."

Buay tahan her....

Full of Energy....

is definitely referring to Little Arielle. Despite her few hours of nap during the day, she simply has immense energy that is driving me crazy! She can be hopping on the bed at one moment and the next moment, you can find her ransacking through your stuff! I really ask myself sometimes if I can cope if I have a second one. Seems like 1 child is already draining every single bit of my energy! Can't imagine if I have another one to add on to the load!

Most of the time, after I got home, I just feel like hitting my head on the pillow but I have to always force myself to update her blog cos I dun want to miss out on any tiny bit of her growing life. Not only that, at times I have to spend some time with her like reading her her bedtime stories or "studying" with her. Not easy lor I must say....

I guessed age is catching up on me. So sad that this is happening! Those "taut" nights I had during my teenage days are definitely not possible in the current context. I think I will concussed if you ask me not to sleep totally!

Aiyah, think need to go for time management course liaoz!

Constant Reminder....

Eversince I experience those few times of Little Arielle having nightmare, I would keep reminding myself not to let her play until she got so carried away else history will repeat.

But then hor, this naughty XP just kept on playing with her lor! He seems to be enjoying it cos Little Arielle was laughing away at the monkey faces that her father is making at her!

So, I took over and tried to pet her to sleep. Then she starts saying words like,"Kay poh, 骗自己!" All learnt from Wangjun lor! And she does make me laugh when she says it. So in the end, instead of patting her to sleep, both of us were laughing away!

Sure hope that she would not have nightmares tonight again!

No Luck....

Tried to sms Angela, the said baker who do up nice, beautiful cakes but was disappointed to find out that she is only doing cookies right now! So sad leh! Tried to sms another baker and this person din reply.

Aiyah, got so many cake shops and yet not many seems to be doing Barney cakes. This is a popular cartoon character now leh but yet the supply is so limited. If not for my darling girl, I can't be bothered man!

Luckily I do my homework earlier so I still have ample time to play around with.

Good luck to me or anyone who has any good recommendations, feel free to give me advice!

Thank you in advance ah....

A Special Dedication

"You were not welcome by us initially...

At our wits end, we opened our door for you... reluctantly.

Despite our hostility, you never fail to provide timely comfort and security.

At times when events turn ugly and drives us to the wall, you boldly confronted the nasty moments and made it right.

I salute you for helping us eliminate noise pollution and make her hit the sack speedily...you did it so effortlessly!

Without you, we'll meet more frustrations and feel more vexation.

Thank you for being such a great friend and companion for the past 21 months.

Thank you Du Du! Congratulations & Best Wishes on Your Retirement!"

The above passage is extracted from one of the mummies' blog. To acknowledge her efforts, it's from Kaelyn's mummy, someone whom I do not know but somehow has linked to her blog through Ching. Realised that her girl is only a few days older than mine and what she has expressed in the above passage is exactly how I feel. As such, I can't help but extracted it from her blog. Every word and phrase used is simply so appropriate! Kudos to her!!

4-Syllabus Word

As Little Arielle grows day by day, her speech capability also improves along with time. She is now able to pronounce 4 syllabus words like motorcycle and helicopter. Well, hopefully she can speak proper sentences soon so that XP would allow her to go to school without any worries. Her dear daddy has always been afraid that she will not know how to tell us if she were to be bullied in school. Therefore, he is against the idea of her going to school until she is more fluent in communication.

So little one, keep up the good work!
