The flight to Maldives just seem to be so long even though it was supposed to be a 4 hours flight! Was happy that Little Arielle finished eating her food :) Am always afraid that she did not get to eat enough! But by dirtying her clothes with food, that still made me angry!
Finally reached Maldives and the airport is really super lok-kor! We did not have any covered shelter to the customs. After getting off the plane, we gotta walk under the sun to the customs. Luckily, the distance was not very far! The airport really looked super old! Seems like it can collapse anytime! Anyway, we were brought to our bus which will bring us to our seaplane. While waiting in the bus, we had a glimpse of the clear beautiful sea! It was really amazing :) Things that we see in the photos are finally appearing in front of us!
The bus took us to the waiting area for our seaplane. We were told to wait at the lounge as the seaplane will only leave in half an hour's time. The lounge was fully furnished! It had food, internet access, tv and a massage corner. We were treated like VIPs :)
When it was time to go, we were each given a set of ear plugs. Hmm this is the first time that I was going to use ear plugs. Thought it was supposed to be something hard but realised it was made of sponge.
My thought of a seaplane ride was that it would just move on the water and din know that it can actually fly (sua ku hee). I think I was glad that it flew cos the ride wasn't very pleasant. The plane looks rather big from outside but it was super cramped inside. I felt that the ventilation really sucks and some of the passengers were seen puking. I almost became one of them! A 45 minutes ride seems to be an endless wait! We can't wait to get out of the plane. Worst of all, Little Arielle suddenly complained of stomachache. Luckily, it was not long before we reached the destination. Well, the only good thing about the flight was that we get to see the many little islands from above. It was really magnificent :) And from above, we saw that the area of the hotel was very huge!
Upon arrival, Maldives rain welcomed us! Realised that they had frequent passing showers! We waited for our check in to be completed and the buggy took us straight to our villa!
I was totally mesmerised by the view that appeared in front of us when we opened the villa door. Immediately, we knew that we are in paradise! I was busy snapping pic of all the corners of the room and of course the beautiful sky and sea in front of me! Little Arielle was super excited too! How we wished that this holiday is never gonna end!
After exploring all the parts of the room, we finally settled down. Little Arielle could not resist the outdoor jacuzzi and she was the first to take a dip in it. Thereafter, we decided to go out to the island to take a look and at the same time, have our dinner. Halfway through, we were stopped by the hotel staff where we were told that our luggage will not arrive until next morning! We were quite shocked because we literally saw it at the jetty earlier. The staff apparently made a mistake and sent our luggage back to main land! To compensate us, we were treated with a complimentary dinner and had a set of polo tee and sarong!
Opps....did I say complimentary dinner? Hahaha....we took the chance to order the expensive stuff from room service and it was so shiok! Hee think the bill can easily choke up to $200+ Sin! But well, it was not our fault! We were lazy and tired after the flight and dinner and so, it's rest time!
