A Failure Indeed!

I always felt bad and guilty after scolding or smacking Little Arielle. However, I just found it hard to stop this action of mine. She is simply too nerve-breaking for us! Either she cannot stop touching everything in the house, or she is just too hyper active.

Often, I found myself screaming my head off during the weekend. It is indeed tiring. I seems to be working 24/7.

Come to think of it, I do find myself a failure. Not being able to juggle well between family and work. Is it because I am not disciplined enough or something is just not right.

Just felt upset with myself! Little Arielle doesn't deserve all these. She should have two lovely parents showering all the attention on her during weekends, compensating for the loss of companionship during weekdays.

Kept thinking to myself what can be done? I need time to sleep, time to rest, time to play and time to relax!

The $5 Mark

Well, Little Arielle kena again! All bashed up by XP yesterday. He was so mad with her when she was rude and hit him. Really cannot understand why she cannot be obedient leh.

His strokes must be so firm that the "$5" mark is still visible today!

One of Her Vain Acts!

Decided it was too boring to stay at home (din wanna repeat the same doing) and the weather made it frustrating to be home.

So after breakfast, we went over to Vivo City. Hmm....been a while since we last visited Vivo City.

Went past Espirit and Little Arielle insisted that she wanted to go into the boutique. So this is the reason why she wanted to go in:

After she is finally done with showing off in front of the mirror, we wanted to visit the Pet Safari in Vivo City. Went through the other route and chanced upon this status. Think it was known as the Kindness Lion? Anyway, nevermind, just take a pic first :)

Yummy Dried Scallops!

Just walked out of my room and was "hi-jacked" by my MIL. Hmm....in my mind, I was thinking if she has found something to scold me again?

Well, it turned out to be something good! She wanted to give me some dried scallops so that it can be used to cook Little Arielle's porridge. Had wanted to do this eversince Little Arielle took solid food. Hee, that means it was 2 years back. Apparently, this lousy mummy did not do so. But, it's late than never!

EQ Answers

Was on our way home after a satisifed dinner - Hoe Nam Big Prawn Noodle. While in the car, a question suddenly struck me and I asked Little Arielle the following:

Me: You like Daddy or Mummy?
LA: I like Daddy & Mummy!

Me: Daddy nicer or Mummy nicer?
LA: Daddy nicer, Mummy nicer, Gong gong nicer, Da Jiu nicer....
[She just meant everyone is nice]

Not bad siaz, so young already know how to package her answer. Perhaps Mummy Me should learn more from her!

So Many Requests!

Little Arielle was made to sleep on her own bed. Apparently, she was very reluctant to do so. As such, she tried to be farnie by making so many requests!

Me: Go and sleep
LA: I want to drink milk milk
[Made milk & gave it to her]
[After she finished her milk....]
Me: You can go and sleep
LA: I want tissue to wipe my mouth
[Request granted]
LA: Mummy, read books
[Read 2 stories for her]
Me: Go and sleep
LA: Mummy, I want to drink water
[Request granted]
[After drinkng....]
LA: Mummy, got gar gar in my nose
[Helped her with her nose shit....]
LA: Mummy, my bed bed got hair
[Removed all the hair for her....very fed up at this point liaoz!]
LA: Mummy, I havent kiss you
Me: Okie....
LA: Mummy, you havent kiss me
[Done as requested]
LA: Mummy, you did not say good night, Arielle, Xiao Gong Zhu
[Okie, I do]

Finally, she decided to sleep after torturing me for almost 45 mins to 1 hr! Faintz!

A Ray of Hope

At long last, we finally saw a ray of light at the end of the tunnel. Hee hee, talk so much but actually I was just informed by mama that Little Arielle finally decided to open her mouth to tell her that she wants to poo poo at the toilet bowl.

And yes, it's not empty promises but she really did her business at the toilet bowl. Hmm...please continue to do so so that I can save on diapers.

Other kids, some of her same age and some who are even younger were already toilet trained. She is really slow in this aspect. But well, as a mother, I did not really force her but rather I let her decide for herself when she wants to be diaper free :)

Oh, She Remembered!

I was very busy with work and purposely told Little Arielle to go to bed. Well, I was in fact, trying to test to see if she would insist on me reading her bedtime stories again.

Oh she did remember and as usual, requested me to read to her. Greedy one wanted me to read 4 books to her. Wow wow, that's too much for me!

Told her that I will do so tomorrow night and she agreed to my proposal.

Read 2 stories to her and off she goes to bed! Seems like it is becoming a habit :)

Bedtime Stories!

It started on Monday when Little Arielle suddenly wanted me to read before her bed. I was thinking how come there is the sudden interest in wanting me to tell her bedtime stories.

Well, I thought that it would just be a one-off activity and did not expect it to recur. It took me by surprise when this slowly became a habit.

As such, for the past few nights, I have been reading to her. She seems to enjoy it very much which made me feel good. Well, at least she wants to hear my voice before her bedtime. It also gives me a chance to bond with her. To me, it is just a 15 minutes break from work. However, to her, she really looked forward to her bedtime stories.

Hopefully, it is an ongoing habit for her. I am most willing to be her story-teller :)

Little Arielle's Favourite Fruit!

is the King of Fruits ~ Durian!

Was glad that she has the same taste bud as us as it is a happy moment to enjoy good food together!

XP was just causally asking if she wanted to eat durian and her answer was spontaneous!

As such, XP just bought a box for us to ease the crave! Yummy yum yum! This box of 5 pieces was gone in a few minutes. We will go for more! Believe me!!

The Packing Continues....

Sad to say, yesterday's packing wasn't over yet and we gotta continue with it today. We were on it straight after breakfast. It's another 5 hours of hard work but this time round, it was more tedious cos I kena flu from it. Dun worry, it's not swine flu but it was a result of the dusty environment. But then again, it wasn't that dusty. Not sure how it happen but it just felt terrible. I still tried to do a bit and luckily, managed to pack up my 7 boxes of clothes. Hee....so many boxes hor. I want to go on diet so that I can fit in those clothes and be as beautiful as my girl.

Anyway, this is the achievement for the day:

*Another 2 more stacks of drawers. All self-assembled by XP* - Uploaded on 04 May 2009

And the verdict is ~ we are not done yet....have to continue for the next few weekends. Hopefully, the flu bug is not coming after me else I will have difficulties to continue with it!

It's Labour Day!

It's indeed labour day for us as we finally got down to packing. Many of my friends and colleagues have been asking me when would I be shifting to my new house. Some even thought that I have already shifted. Well, well, I'm still stuck at my PIL's place. Reason being we were just too tired from work during weekend and just want to relax during the weekend.

Well, XP decided that it was time for us to start doing something. Hmm, someone gotta start the ball rolling. So we put our hands to work right after the registration for the Shin Min Fun Drive.

Finally, after 5 hours of packing, we filled up 3 boxes of soft toys and 2 boxes of bags. It was too tiring and we decided to stop for the day. Of course, it's not just putting the stuff into boxes. We also took this opportunity to see if there were anything that could be disposed.

Sent these 5 boxes of stuff + 2 boxes of toiletries and 1 box of kitchenware to our new house in the evening.

Shall continue part 2 tomorrow....

May Day Special ~ Shin Min Fun Drive

What should you be doing on a public holiday?? Sleep late right??

But apparently, this is not the case for the Tan Family! Little Arielle was pulled out of her cosy bed at about 7am. Hmm, what are we up to early in the morning??

Check this out!

*The queue before us* - Uploaded on 03 May 2009

Wow, that seems to be a lot of people and hmm....they seems to be queueing up! Yes, you are right. We were up and early to queue up for the Shin Min Fun Drive to Genting. It was recommended by one of the CRaVers Club member, Sim who had joined their drive last year. He told us that it was very fun and there were about 300 vehicles which took part in the drive last year. Wow, that's a lot of cars! The only drawback was that you would have to queue up early in the morning to get yourself registered. He mentioned that last year, some of them even queued overnight to make sure that they get themselves a seat. Huh, so exaggerating??

Anyway, we were not planning to do that. Instead, we decided to go earlier in the morning. Registration started at 9am and we were there at about 7.20am. Not sure if it is because of swine flu, the crowd was not that promising. As such, we managed to grab ourselves a seat. One other club member was already there and Sim came by a while later.

Hmm, we got a good 1.5 hour to while our time so all of us just gathered around to chit chat. Luckily, Little Arielle wasn't difficult to manage during this period. Took the chance to snap some shots of her:

*The difference between early and late* - Uploaded on 03 May 2009

It's 8.30am+ and those who came later were not given VIP treatment i.e. gotta sit on the floor. Hmm, being early is still advantagaous after all.

Anyway, registration started exactly at 9am. First, we were asked which package we were taking i.e. how many pax to a room and we were given a choice between First World Hotel and Theme Park Hotel. The initial plan is to choose First World Hotel as it was nearer to the theme park. However, we were told that they were only able to offer single beds and in the end, we chose Theme Park Hotel. It costs $388 for a room for 2 pax and it's a 3D2N event in June. Everything was completed at about 9.30am and off we went for our breakfast! Hungry siaz!
