"Stranded" in Mama's House

XP was on leave today to monitor the reno works of our nest. What I know is that they will be doing up the wallpaper for our living room ceiling as well as Little Arielle's bedroom. It wasn't done with the other areas as it was only decided at a later stage that we wanna do up this area. Previously, the other supplier quoted a much higher price if we were to do up Little Arielle's room. This is because they charge a different price as the wall height of Little Arielle's room is very high. As such, we decided to KIV the job. Recently, XP managed to contact the supplier who did up the wallpaper for our Punggol house. He gave a much reasonable price as he based on per square feet to quote. Therefore, he was awarded the job.

As for our living room ceiling, the initial intention is to just have it painted white. However, the job was not done very well and resulted in ugly stripes on the ceiling. XP couldn't take it and by re-painting, there is a possibility of damaging our existing wallpaper as well as our stucco wall. Thus, he decided to do wallpaper for that area as a last resort.

He thought that they would be able to finish the job within half a day but somehow, it did not happen. Was informed that XP that by the time they complete the job, it might be close to 9pm. He gotta clean up after that which might take him another 1 hour. So, I came back to mama's house by myself, ordered pizza and had my dinner here.

XP would pick me up after he's done with the house and I supposed I will not bring Little Arielle home tonight so that he can sleep later tomorrow.

One thing I must compliment XP is that he is really a dedicated man who takes pride in whatever he does. I really cannot match up his level. Must salute to him siaz! Thank you to my man who took up the cleaning up of the house and everything pertaining to reno onto himself. I know that it ain't an easy task and I'm glad that we are almost done!

The Start of Bento-ing

First step to the start of bento-ing is of course to get some tools. Got so excited when I saw Mama Tong's post of doing up food in a form of bento for her kids. She has yet to start (I assume cos I din see any post of her masterpiece) but she got a full set of tools ready liaoz.

Was even more motivated by her friend's posts on bento as well as some of the sites that I have surfed. These people are really amazing! I really take my hats off them! The time and effort spent to do up a bento for their kids can be tedious but satisfying with the results. Best of all, we just love to hear the "Wow" from our kids.

Managed to only get 2 set of tools from Daiso today when we went shopping at Vivo City. Was hoping to get more but the tools there were so limited. Hopefully can get more of it so that I can start. But of course, most probably can only start when we have shifted to our new house. Cos the kitchen will belong to me liaoz hee!

Updates to Reno Works 19

The people from Lighting Centre came down to get the hook done up for our chandelier. Basically, that's the only thing done for today. They will proceed to get our chandelier fixed up. We did not rush them so that they can do a good job. :)

Tissue Destroyer!

Don't know what's with Little Arielle? She just loves to shred tissue and throw the shredded pieces onto the floor. Does this derive joy in her? I wonder? I only know that I would be the busy one to "kio" her mess!

New Look!

Yeah, well again, thanks to Mama Tong who went to beautify her blog. So this kpo mummy here also wanna follow suit.

Clumsy Mummy Me

Alamak, I did not know what came over me! Was wearing my shoes with Little Arielle in the arms. Somehow, I just lost my balance and fell down!

Aiyo, can you believe it! Thank god that I was at the doorstep of my PIL's house and it was carpetted. Felt on my bum and my left heel hit my right thigh. I can feel the pain on my right thigh and I expected it to bruise. Luckily, there was no bloodshed.

Most important of all, Little Arielle was all right. Just that she got a shock from her sleep.

Hmm, I must have been dreaming. Gotta exercise caution in future hee!

Ulcer?

I was lying on my bed and enjoying the tv program, Little Arielle started wailing. She pointed to her lips and kept saying that it's painful. I proceeded to check her entire mouth and realised that she got an ulcer on her upper right lip.

I was quite surprised cos it din occur to me that kids as young as 2 can have ulcer. Told mama to brew barley for her and she gotta abstain from heaty food (which I doubt so).

If not, then it will take a longer time to recover!

My Little Helper

I just brought in the laundry and Little Arielle insisted to help. Since she is so forthcoming, I let her do the job!

Updates to Reno Work 18

My designer got a group of cleaners to come and clean up our house yesterday. This meant that 99% of the reno works is completed. Only left with some touch up here and there. We dropped by today to take a look and was pleased with their work. The place was indeed clean and he helped us hang up our curtains for our living room and Little Arielle's room.

Wow, it really has the feel of a cosy home. Our furniture and electrical products will be arriving next Saturaday. Can't wait to see the whole house being dolled up!

Sharp Sharp Nose!

I was sitting in the front passenger seat and I discreetly took out a Ricola pearl and quietly popped it into my mouth. I was very certain that Little Arielle, who is sitting diagonally behind me cannot see what I am doing as I have used my cushion to cover my actions up.

Moments later, she suddenly said,"Mummy, I want to eat sweet!" I got a shock and she said the sweet smell so nice!

Wat biangz, XP was still in a blur state until I told him that I was eating sweet. Wat sharp nose she has! Really fits her zodiac - dog!

Oh, for once, Little Arielle is seen studying quietly on her own. That lasted quite a while until I shine my camera on her and decided to take a pic. She was distracted by the infra red light and turned and looked at me.

Updates to Reno Works 16

Hmm, as usual, we popped by after work! Haven't been here for the past 2 days cos we had dinner with Astin and gang on Tue and we attended a wedding dinner last night. What they have done is the tracks for our curtains. Done it for our living room, Little Arielle's room and our room.

Got a shock when we saw the cracked laminate on our wall. Luckily, our designer was still around and he explained that they tried to smoothen our the laminate but accidentally cracked it. So he would doing the replacement the following day.

Last but not least, I realised that my stucco wall is so much sparkling as compared to the last round that I saw. Found out from my designer that he went to enhance the spark i.e. re-do. Wow wow, the effect was really good!

The Tree is Gone!

We have a jackfruit tree planted in the next apartment. I kinda of like the tree cos it's huge and thus provided a lot of shade as it's branches grew over to our unit. Although it is shady, it did bring about a lot of problems i.e. dead leaves dropping into our balcony, known bomb attacks (bird shits), noisy birds and of course not forgetting ants and fruit flies eating into the jackfruit.

We only complained once to our developer about this matter and thereafter rested the case cos the shady tree did block out the sun and we had more important things to handle.

As such, I was shocked when XP informed me that the tree is gone!! I was so upset when I learnt about this. He told me that our designer saw some workers chopping it off. Initially, he thought that they were just trimming the branches and was also surprised when he realised that they were chopping it away.

They must have received complaints from other units which they were left with no choice but to chop it off.

While this is what it's like when the tree is gone. Everything looks so bright!

A Busy & Frustrating Night

XP and I had dinner with Astin and gang at Ang Mo Kio. We enjoyed our food and went to pick Little Arielle up after this mini gathering is over.

As usual, we will play with her and I managed to do a second recording of her poetry recitation. Thereafter, XP made milk for her and she was quietly drinking her milk. Just when she finished her last drop of milk. She suddenly vomitted whatever she has contained in her stomach. I was really shocked! Everything happened so fast that we weren't in time to carry her off our bed.

In the end, the bedsheet got stained, the mattress protector got stained and best of all, our mattress got stained too :(

Little Arielle's shirt and pants were badly stained. I was just loss for words. Quickly brought her to the bathroom while XP pulled out the bedsheets for washing. Once I settled Little Arielle, I proceeded to wash her clothes manually as the stains were really bad. Oh mine, the smell of the puke was so strong that I almost vomitted too. Tried to wash off most of it and I threw it into the washer to let the machine do the washing.

Little Arielle was so tired that she fell asleep in the other room. Poor me, I had to wash for the laundry to be done before I can get to sleep. Silly washer is too small for all the bedsheets and protector to go in. As such, I gotta spilt into 3 rounds which means I gotta wait for almost 2 hours cos per cycle is 45 mins! Arrgghhh, I actually meant to sleep early tonight! In the end, I gotta be like a fool waiting for laundry to be done! Indeed a waste of time leh! So morale of the story, get a bigger washer! Luckily, that's what I did for my new washer!

Greedy Mummy Me

XP parked his car and we walked past a provision shop. Mummy Me just had craving for potato chips and XP bought a packet for me to munch. I only opened the chips when we reached mama's house. Well, of course, it will immediately attract someone over - Little Arielle.

Fed XP with some and Little Arielle got impatient!

IT Show 2009

XP wanted to check out the IT show and thus, we proceeded straight there after breakfast. It's about 10.45am when we reached there and there were still plenty of carpark lots left. When we reached the exhibition hall, we realised the reason - it's only open from 12pm onwards. There were other exhibitors who started earlier i.e. SingTel, M1, Starhub, Sony....so we went to take a look there. XP thought of getting our tv there from Sony but realised that their price is not so attractive after all. *Look at the crowd! All waiting for the doors to open!* - Uploaded on 15 Mar 2009

Finally, the doors opened and the crowd went in orderly. I remembered that I needed a mouse for my laptop. In the end, I also got the table as shown in the pic. It was really a good buy. The table is foldable and I can put it on my bed while I use my lappie. Best of all, when you do not need to use it, you can fold it right until it's flat. So in the end, I bought both the items - mouse and table. Mouse costs me $8 and the table costs me $45. Sorrie, nothing inside is suitable for Little Arielle. Hee!

Greedy Dog!

Ahh-haaa! Little Arielle was caught in action! Hmm, was told by mama that she placed a chocolate cake in the living room and went back to the kitchen to pick up something. She specifically told Little Arielle not to touch the cake and to wait for her to be back. Apparently, that has fallen on deaf ears. Next moment, this is what happened!
