Missing Her Hard!

Had to stay back real late today to do some system testing. Expected time that I can leave office is probably 9.30pm or even later if the system fails on me. Really missing Little Arielle at this moment and was hoping that she is just in front of me for me to hug!!

Another 1 hour more! Hopefully I can go off at that time to see my girl!!

I Love Car Seat!

Hmm din know that Little Arielle loves to sit in the car seat. Well, from this statement, you would know that I seldom put her in. In fact, have yet to get the car seat for her age. Currently, she is still using the infant seat.

Perhaps should really get one suitable for her age and hope that she would continue with the love to be inside one!

Dark Dark Place

Well, there must be something that a child needs to be afraid of so that it would be easier to discipline them when the need arises.

We were on the way back home and Little Arielle starts to get out of her car seat and wants to come out of it and to walk on the backseat. I would be very mad with her everytime she does this! It is so dangerous to be walking around while the car is at least going at a speed of 100km/hr. Moreover, she doesn't know how to hold on properly or react appropriately when there is an E-brake. And usually by the time we fetch her home, it's usually about 8pm+. I would be so tired at that time that I just wish I can take a doze off in the car before reaching home. And if she is going to make life difficult for me during this 20-25 minutes of journey, I will get very irritated.

So, in order to make my life better, I thought of something to scare her so that she would listen to me. Most of the kids would be afraid of the dark. So, I decided to work around this same fear! And since it's already dark when we fetch her, it makes things easier!

So, I proceeded to tell her that if she is going to misbehave again, I will ask XP to stop the car, open the door and she would be brought to the dark dark place. In this dark dark place, there would be "ji ji" and "ga-ga" which will come out and bite her backside. Nevermind about "ji ji" and "ga-ga". It's just some baby talk terms that one would use and if you are a parent, you would probably understand what I mean!

Hahaha, it works lor! She is so scared that she would quietly sit in her car seat and admire the scenery outside. Peace at last, well at least for the car journey period....

Sticky Moment

Was trying to do my own things after we got home and XP slept in early as he had a late night the previous day. As usual, Little Arielle is still active and did not display as signs of sleepyness.

Thought that she would be on her own watching her favourite DVD ~ Miffy, but I was wrong. She started climbing down the bed and coming to me. She would grab hold of my hand, asked me to stand up and hinting that I should accompany her and play with her. I was mean to shook off her hand and ask her to sit down, watch her Miffy and I would be done in a moment.

Apparently, she is not interested to wait for me and she started going to her Daddy and hopefully that she would not be ignored there. Well, of course she did not manage to get Daddy's attention despite numerous attempts of waking him up.

That made me realised that as they grow up, they want companionship. They are not satisfied with just watching DVD on their own.

On this note, I will try to spend more time with her!

HFM Disease

Heard from the news that the above disease is on the rise. Hmm wonder if it is a good thing that Little Arielle is not in any childcare or playgroup. Usually, such disease spread very fast among kids.

A lot of centres have taken the initiative to close down temporarily. Aiyo, kelian are the parents who have to make arrangments for their kids.

Hopefully, the disease can go away asap. Important period to keep our kids clean at all times! Hygiene is very important!

The Unexpected Move

I had successfully shifted Little Arielle to her own mattress after she fell asleep on our bed.

Suddenly, in the middle of the night, I heard her soft cries and when I opened my eyes, I saw her standing at the end of our bed and she wants to sleep between us again. Alamak, see her standing there so pitifully, I got no choice but to carry her up....

A Child's Reaction

Was late in picking Little Arielle up as we went to visit granny at the hospital this evening. She was hospitalised as she had a fall last Monday. Luckily, everything is fine and her condition is improving. We are hoping that she can be discharged asap.

Was at my mama house at about 8.15pm. Mama was telling me that Little Arielle knows the usual time that we would reach her place. If we are late, she would start whining. Hmm so clever one meh??

Next, she was telling me that she refused to sit in other people's car. Mama went out yesterday and today and 2 different relatives sent her back. Little Arielle cried the moment she was being carried into their car. Huh, so clever meh? Can recognise XP's car liaoz??

When we were home, XP was talking to me and he suddenly mentioned the word "ang moh" and the next moment, I heard Little Arielle repeating after him! Alamak, that was fast!

Looking Forward to 26th Apr

Well, cannot believe that we are going away on another trip this weekend. Just when I have yet to recover from my Japan trip, I have to start packing for my Malaysia trip this weekend. Well, at least the packing is gonna be easier as it is only gonna be a 2 days event and no thick clothing required this time round.

It's gonna be a drive in to Pahang this weekend with another 119 SUVs organised by The New Paper. Wow, such a big convoy and I supposed it's gonna be exciting!

Shall have more updates when the trip is over. Hmm if it is good, we will probably consider joining them again next year!

Feels Farnie!

Have been seeing Little Arielle for the whole 24 hours for the past 2 weeks and today I'm back to reality ~ basically it means going back to work!

Feels kind of weird not having her around with me the whole day and I can only see her after work.

I guessed I would need another few days to get used to this....

Really Last Minute Purchase!

Hengz ah, managed to get my youngest brother to rush down to NTUC to get Little Arielle's biscuits.

Mama Tong mentioned that it's good to have something for the kid to eat while they are on board the plane.

Hopefully she would not be so cranky on flight!

Another Few More Hours To Japan!

It's another few more hours before we would be at the airport. Taking the last few minutes chance to recap what has been packed and hopefully remembered what has been left out.

I'm able to better get things done as Little Arielle is not around. Else, I guessed she would be active as well even though it's almost 12 midnight.

Had sent her to my mother's place in the evening as we had a wedding to attend to. The initial plan is to bring her along but her cough sounds serious and thus we decided not to bring her.

Shall get on with my packing and wait for my Japan blog entries!!

Massive Washing

Have done all the washing for the clothes that I have collected yesterday. Hopefully it would be dry by tomorrow so that everything can be packed into the luggage bag!

Aiyo, feel that I am very steady. Havent even placed a single item into the luggage bag yet!

Hmm, first need to start locating the whereabouts of my luggage bag hee hee!!

Almost Slipped!

Eversince our house was sold, Little Arielle did not use her piyo piyo bathtub to bath as the toilet would be very cramp with this additional item. Thus, we would usually bath her in the bathtub. The bathtub can be pretty slippery and we would usually exercise extra caution especially when we are bathing for her.

Hengz my reaction was fast today to grab hold of her as she nearly slipped and hit her head! Thank god man!

Another Shitty Day??

Yes, it's another shitty day! Gotta know from mama that Little Arielle has poo-ed 4 times today. Granny and mama were very sure that nothing foreign was given to Little Arielle. What is assuring is that Little Arielle's fever is gone.

Granny suspected that the "diarheao" is caused by teething. But I thought her teeth were fully grown?

Just hope that all these problems will be gone before the trip!

Approved Liaoz!

XP got his monthly POSB statement and saw that his cheque for the Hokkien Huay Kuan membership fee has cleared!

Hee hee, this means they have accepted us as member liaoz! Yippee!! Next, I suppose they would be sending letters to inform us officially!

Arrival of Little Arielle's Items!

Finally, I managed to collect Little Arielle's items which I have purchased on 10 Mar. So how come only managed to collect today when the purchase was made almost a month ago. This is because I have joined the online BP (Bulk Purchase) which can help to save $$ and at the same time get pretty items! But the con is that you would have to take the risk to wait. At times, if supplier were to delay the shipment, you will not be able to get your items in time. Especially if you need it by a certain date! Which is in my case!

Was worried over the past few days about not being able to receive the items in time. This is because I also need to cater time to wash the items and to dry it. The weather these few days is so unpredictable! At last, I have received it and it puts my mind at ease. This damage caused me $142.98! Hee hee, nevermind lah! As long as it looks nice on my girl!

All would be put to wash tomorrow!!

My Feverish Baby!

Was carrying Little Arielle up from the bed as we are heading to mama's house to "deposit" her there. Hmm realised that she feels warmer than usual. Asked XP to feel her and he agrees to me!

Die liaoz lah, she seems to be a little feverish leh! Of all the times, it had to be today! Alamak why is she so prone to sickness recently? Yesterday it's "shitting" day and today is fever day??

If she is not better later on in the day, I think we would have to bring her to the PD later. Cannot afford to take the risk at this point in time! Crossing my fingers!

Change of Yen

Finally, we have changed our Sin dollars for Yen. Though we have waited for so long, the rate din go down to 1.32. This is the lowest that XP has checked. We only managed to change at the rate of 1.36 with the help of my auntie. Well, to console ourselves, this rate is already so much better compared to 1.60 when we went for our honeymoon in 2004. So right now, we have about 150,000 Yen to spend over there. Sounds a lot but not sure if it's gonna be enough or not. Hmm....

Hopefully I'm able to get a Combi car seat for Little Arielle in Japan. Hope that the price would be much cheaper compared to Singapore. Simply fell in love with their car seat eversince I saw it at the Baby Fair hee hee!

Fussy Eater!

Jiat lard liaoz! Seems like this naughty one is turning into a fussy eater too! She is now selective when it comes to food. Oh no, is it the case for all kids or only mine is so troublesome?

When you tried to give her food and you have already put it into her mouth, she can still spilt it out if she doesn't like it. Aiyo, if she is gonna do so for every other item, then how to get the nutrients leh!

Any tips from anyone?

Full of Shit??

Not sure what has happened to Little Arielle but mama has been complaining that she has shitted around 3 times today. But she said that she is not having diarrhoea as her stools are not watery.

Brought her home at night and again she has shitted! Alamak, today is indeed a Shitty Day! Will have to monitor to see if it happens again tomorrow!

Enough or Not?

XP and I have been debating long ago whether to get 900g or 1.8kg for Little Arielle's milk powder. We have been discussing this topic for a while but yet to arrive at a consensus. The milk powder is to be brought for her consumption in Japan. For me, I feel that I want to have a peace of mind when I travel. I would rather bring more than to be in a situation when I realised that I dun have enough. This is very important especially when it comes to food.

Little Arielle would be dependent solely on formula when she is in Japan. I do not want to run the risk of stuffing her with any food in Japan as she has a history of allergy. Remember the egg incident! Although Japan can be very clean and the food is very nice but you never know what a child can be allergic to. This can be very stressful especially when you are not in your own country.

As such, my stand is to buy the 1.8kg formula. In the event she did not finish the whole tin, it can still be brought back to Singapore. However, XP is of the opinion that 900g should be sufficient. We are only there for 2 weeks and he feels that 900g is more than enough! He even considered getting only 400g.

Well, since he is so certain that 900g is gonna be enough for Little Arielle, I have agreed to get only 900g and I have already told him that he would be held responsible if there isn't enough to go around! That's why, it's recorded in the blog!

Last Minute Shopping

Well, I'm not the person who is into last minute tasks but if your partner is such, you gotta kind of live with it.

XP always do last minute packing for tour trips. Not sure if it is because he enjoys the thrill of doing it last minute or because there is basically no time during the week to do it. Or perhaps there is no mood to do the packing that early.

Anyway, we bought a few items for ourselves as well as for Little Arielle. We got a travel pack for her which consists of bath lotion, baby oil, powder, soap, body lotion and shampoo. And it's packed in a nice little pouch, courtesy of Pigeon. If anyone is travelling and wants to get it. Do check it out at NTUC cos we din know that it is selling only at $7.20 until we happened to pass by it. We got ours at Guardian which is charging us at $7.45.

We got for ourselves mini facial cleanser ($1.95 ~ Guardian), listenise mouth rinse (2 for $1.95 ~ Guardian), empty bottles (2 for $2.20 ~ Watsons), snoopy travel pouch which consists of a few containers ($1.95 ~ Watsons) and Pantene conditioner ($4.85 ~ NTUC).

Gotta go through the list again to see if we have missed anything out. Still got the weekend to do the real last minute shopping if need be. Most important is that Little Arielle's things must be in order!

Peace Tonight

Little Arielle fell asleep in the car and she did not wake up after I placed her on the bed. Thought that it would be a peaceful night that I can quietly do my things. Alamak, just took a peep at her and realised that she has woke up!

Quickly gave her milk and hope that she would continue in her dreamland after her feed!

Touched!

As I was doing the slideshow for Little Arielle's photos, I took the chance to include those which was taken when she was younger. Was very touched when I went through her photos and the video clips that I took for her when she was still a few months old. Couldn't believe that she has grown so much over the past few months.

Was kinda of amazed with myself for having a kid and that the kid has grown this big. Beginning to really appreciate what it feels like to be a mother. Someone who painstakingly takes care of their children without any complaints and the love and care showered on them is priceless!

Really regretted not taking more pic and video clips! Mummies to be and current mummies out there! Better do it to avoid regrets like me! I'm gonna do it on a larger scale if I do have a second one!

Finally Know How to Suck!

Little Arielle has been very slow when it comes to learning how to suck from a straw. Like any other mummy, I brought her the training mug for her to learn how to do so. I started her on this probably when she was around 6-9 months. However, her attempt has always been a failure.

I din know that she knows how to suck until tonight. I was drinking from a straw for my Pokka Jasmine Green Tea. As usual, this naughty little one also wants to have a taste of it.

Since I was still under the impression that she dun know how to suck, I dun mind to let her "bite" on the straw to have a feel of it. Next moment, I was shocked when I saw water going into her mouth! Oh! She knows how to suck!! I was so excited and told XP about it.

Alamak, guessed what is his reaction! "Oh she already knows how to such when I gave her milo that day (last weekend)!" Idiot! Din tell me earlier!!

Nevermind, at least I know that she can do it now! Yipee!!

My Black Bangle

Mama appeared with 2 glass bangles and attempted to wear one of it on Little Arielle's hand. I recalled that I too had one when I was little. But it was broken long time ago as I was active and naughty at that time. I think I remembered that it broke when I fell on the stairs.

Hmm, not sure why the designers had to make it out of glass. Perhaps, it's a nicer material.

In any case, mama was saying that she has kept 2 of them for almost 20 years. She said that she kept these 2 eversince she bought it for me when I was young. Hahaha, probably she has predicted that she would have a granddaughter 20 years down the road. She was quite excited to put it on for Little Arielle. Aiyah this curious one of course is excited too.

Granny tried to ask Little Arielle to show it to her but she refused! So naughty hor! She was happily running around with the bangle on and suddenly she fell. Hengz ah, the bangle din break! Mama was afraid that it would happen again and wanted to remove it from Little Arielle. Aiyo, she din want to have it removed and was fussing around.

Mama had to coax her for a while before she managed to remove the item from her hand. Looks like it's gonna be a white elephant or otherwise have to wait till she's older to understand how to be careful with the bangle!

Okie Pocky!

Little Arielle was waiting for us to come back from work. So as usual, mama will bring her out and wait along the corridor. Just when we arrived, my mama's neighbour popped her head out and asked Little Arielle over. Hmm, she held a box of biscuit in her hands!

Little Arielle walked over and was given the biscuit. Hee hee she was so happy that she wants XP to open for her. Oh, it's Pocky with milk coating. Such an interesting flavour!

She happily enjoyed her Pocky!

Yipee! Another Upcoming Trip??

Yes, yes! There is another trip waiting for us after we are back from Japan! This is gonna be on 26th - 27th Apr. It was something that XP has signed up just today! So exciting leh!

Details of the trip ~ New Paper SUVival Challenge:

1. It's a road trip organised by New Paper and it's soley for SUVs. The purpose of the trip is to satisfy adventure lovers who love a good drive! There would be exciting games and off-road challenges in store for everyone!

2. Wow, there is special-themed dinner and lucky draw waiting for us too! How to miss such fun leh! Also includes a lunch besides the waterfall. The night stay would be at the quaint French-themed Colmar Tropicale, set 820m above sea level in the lush greenery of Berjaya Hills.

3. Oh yah, there are 2 CRV club members going with us. In fact, they are the ones who have registered first and persuaded us to join in the fun! Good to have friends who go together. They have children too and thus Little Arielle will not be bored cos one of the family is her "boyfriend's" family hee hee!

Wow, wow!! Wow until forgot to mention the destination. It's in Malaysia ~ Pahang! Have been waiting to drive to Malaysia with Little Arielle around. Just feel shiok to be her slave and to take real good care of her when she is in the car. This would allow XP to have full concentration on his driving. Since it's a off-road trip, we might be going through terrain and muddy paths hee hee. So exciting leh!

Can't wait to get the car seat for Little Arielle and looking forward to the trip!!
