A Disturbing Night
After taking Little Arielle's temperature after we came home last night at about 9pm+, I got a shock when the thermometer read 39.9 degree! I panic for a moment but quickly calmed myself down and did the necessary:
1. Give her a bit of milk
2. Feed her fever medication
3. Paste the fever patch on her forehead
She fell asleep shortly....
Temperature check at 1am+, it is still reading at 39.8. Din really seem to have dropped :( Gave her another dose of medication and told myself that I gotta wake up 4 hours later to check on her again. Woke up at about 5am+ and there is still no drop :( Quickly changed her fever patch and another dose of medication was given. If there is no improvement, I would have to bring her to the doc. It is really very worrying!
Finally, I was heaving a sigh of relief when the next temperature check at 8am+ showed 37.4 degree. Thank god that her temperature was normal. But still gave her her medication at 9am+ and I think I will continue her fever medication for today lest the fever comes back again. But instead of 4 hourly, I would probably stretch to 6 hourly.

Mini Reshuffle
Since Little Arielle is unwell, I reckon we will be going out today. As such, I decided to do a little reshuffle to the placement of my items in the kitchen. The rice dispenser is supposed to be on the other side of my kitchen and I shifted it now to the existing place as shown in the pic:
The place where the rice cooker is sitting, that's where the previous rice dispenser was as shown in the pic:
And, today is the first time that we are using our rice cooker :) XP cooked some rice and that's for our lunch. With some canned food. Little Arielle requested to eat some rice too. She needs some carbo since she is not taking her milk.
Hmm, know what my kitchen is lacking? Hee hee, a dish rack!

Along Came Fever....
Sigh....it was first flu and cough. Thereafter, Little Arielle recovered from both. Suddenly, for no apparent reason, her cough came back! Was it because she was too greedy and did not abstain from heaty food? Was it because there was cough virus in school that made her cough came back? Well, there was simply no answer to it!
In any case, she continued to cough badly this morning. Thereafter, she vomitted her milk out. Subsequently, fever came along! Luckily I still have medication for her fever. After taking it, she went to sleep.
I guessed she must be really sick this time round. When she was sick 2 weeks back, she was still alert and agile like a monkey. Today, she actually went to sleep after taking her medicine. Rest well and hope that she would recover before CNY!
Took her temperature and wow wow - it was 38.8 degree! Siao liaoz! Gotta monitor her closely and ensure that she takes her medication on time. It's gonna be a busy day for me :(

Homemade Cookies
Hahaha, don't be mistaken that it's those cookies for CNY :) It's what Little Arielle has made in school today! Well, she din provide me with details. As such, I'm not sure if she is involved in the kneading of the dough too.
In any case, what I can be certain is that she is the one who has "decorated" her cookie with little eyes made of chocolate chips, a raisin nose and a cherry mouth! She must have fun doing so!

A Little Reward Goes A Long Way....
Finally, there's homework for Little Arielle to do for her Little Notes's class. For the past 2 lessons, Mummy Me has been tasked to do a lot of craft work i.e. cutting out a lot of cute little creatures until I never fail to complain to myself whenever I had to cut!
Anyway, back to Little Arielle....like I was saying in the first para, she has homework and it's for her to do colouring on 4 different pictures. Well, teacher says parents no need to help and please don't expect your child to colour within the lines! Yeah! I like that! So basically, I just took out the colour pencils and let her do the necessary. Well of course, I will tell her which part to colour which colour.
Well, it took her a long while to have it done. With close supervision from XP hee! And the colouring must be up to his standard. Yah, he should share this "burden" since he is not attending the class. It took Little Arielle almost 1.5hours to get it done. And, she was motivated cos she has been promised an ice-cream cone at the end of her completed task :)

Singing Away Happily
Was at my MIL's house and Little Arielle was overjoyed when she gets to have a ride on the swing. Happily singing away but half of the time, I don't know what is mumbling about?? This is called zi high and she looks like the Tweety bird sitting on the swing in the cage, singing happily!

3rd Lesson @ Little Notes
Mummy Me was obedient this time in class and did not dare to take pic/videocam unnecessarily. Miss Leow must have noticed my itchy hands and she was kind to officially allow us to take pic of the kids. She asked the kids to gather in front and performed for all the mummies.
Next moment, I saw every mummy busy taking out either their camera/handphone to capture this sight! Hahaha, I'm not the KS one afterall :)

Ahhh Homework....
for Mummy Me again! And yes, I am doing it last minute again hee! Sometimes I wonder if Little Arielle is attending music lesson or craft lesson? I seemed to do artwork at least for the last 2 lessons. And the thing is that, it's not easy to cut out what was required. My hand was sore and painful after the cut! However, I was pretty delighted with the final works :)

My Little Artwork
Mama told me that Little Arielle brought back her artwork today. The one with the birthday cake was brought home last Friday but Mama just couldn't find it until later (realised that Little Arielle hung it on her scooter). Anyway, when I saw it, I almost faint! Her colouring sucks man! No wonder I hear her saying that she is doing colouring everyday hee! The other one was done today. It was a wand and the "card" area had these wordings: "My friend is _____" Little Arielle filled the name -> Amelia. When asked why she indicated Amelia, she said that because she has a princess jacket, therefore, she is her friend, faintz! Made friends cos she got princess items! Buay tahan her!

She Vomitted....
Arrghhh....just got a call from mama and was informed by her that Little Arielle vomitted while sleeping. She was coughing so badly that it resulted in her throwing up the porridge that she has eaten. Hopefully the puke contain some of her phlegm too.
Poor thing....please get well soon....

Mission Accomplished
Yeah! Finally finished Little Arielle's homework and we are all ready for her 2nd lesson tonight! Hopefully she will not cough that badly in the aircon room else she would not enjoy herself.

Already asked mama to let her wear the long sleeve top for tonight's class. Hope everything will go smoothly....
So Disappointed!
Yeah....that's Mummy Me's look when I got to know from this particular baker that she might not be able to take in my order for Little Arielle's birthday cake.
Last year, I tried to order from her but I was too late and she was already fully booked :( This year, I was very diligent and sent in my enquiry today. She was also very diligent and replied me that she is unable to take in any orders for Jul onwards as her son is taking PSLE this year and thereafter, they are planning for a holiday. As such, the timing wise might not warrant her time to bake cakes!
I was checking with her again to see if there is any hope and currently awaiting for a positive reply from her! If it is gonna be a NO again, I will have to source for another person liaoz!

Heart Pain!
From slight cough, Little Arielle's cough has turned for the worst. I could hear her coughing out loud in the middle of the night even though I am sleeping in the other room (cos I had slight flu and decided not to bunk in with her).
That whizzing sound really made me feel so sad. But there is nothing that I can do except to monitor what she eats and ensures that she takes her medication on time.
Poor gal....hope that she will recover soon!

Moo Moo Cow!
Even since Mummy Me saw the moo moo cow coin bank, I wanted to get my hands on it. I still remembered that I saw it in Isetan just one day before my Bangkok trip. Apparently, I did not buy it cos I found the price to be so ridiculous -> $33.90. Subsequently, I too saw the same coin bank in Bangkok and the price was even more x. As such, I told myself that I will immediately cheong to Isetan once I am back from my Bangkok trip.
Well, I did cheong to Isetan but they were not selling it anymore cos it was a one-off sales that they had for Xmas at the atrium. I was pretty upset and was determined to search for it. Went to a few shops and did find similar ones but not the one that I wanted. Finally, I found it in Tampines One but XP felt that it was stupid to pay such a price for a coin bank. In the end, I went around checking if I could exchange some Asia mall voucher so that I can get the coin bank but got no luck in doing so. In the end, I kinda of gave up :(
Today, XP sms me and told me that he bought the exact coin bank that I wanted at only a price of $18. I was so thrilled! When I got home and saw it, I was so delighted! Yes, that's the one that I wanted!
Hee, I specially placed mine next to Little Arielle's one. Not bad leh, she can recognise which one is hers hee and even told me that mine is the mummy of her coin bank hee!

Brave Little Girl
Hmm, I think I'm quite retarded and only realised that Little Arielle was so brave when it comes to taking her medication. Probably I must have treated her like an adult and therefore missed this part and took her for granted.
It was really a breeze when I fed her her medication. She would obediently open her mouth wide, drink up the medication, followed by drinking plain water.
Good girl, my darling! Hope you will get well soon! Your ice-cream is still waiting for you in the fridge :) And please let me have a good night sleep. No more karate kicks okie?
What Was Taught in School
I almost asked the same question everyday when I see Little Arielle -> What did you learn in school today? Most of the time, her replies would be colouring, playing, drank Ribena, ate biscuits. Today I heard something new -> listening to stories and singing.
Hmm, so I got Little Arielle to sing what she has been taught! Hahaha, so farnie leh....

Sleepy Me....
Did not have a good night's sleep....all thanks to Little Arielle....
Since she wasn't feeling well, I decided to bunk in with her to ensure that everything is all right. 2 person squeezing in a super single bed was bad enough! What was worst was that I sometimes gotta tahan her karate kicks!
Anyway, that's merely one of the reasons that I couldn't sleep well. The other reason is of course worried about her. It's just an instinct that I will auto wake up almost every 2 hours, just to check and make sure that she is sleeping well and there is no sudden feverish feel. Luckily, she had a good sleep. Hmm, at least I think so! But not for me :( Waiting for weekend to come and hopefully she will not be the live alarm clock again!

Little Arielle is Sick :(
Well, I must thank god for blessing me with a healthy child! From birth, Little Arielle did not give me much worries, hmm except that she has constipation. She was seldom heard to be sick but sad to say, she is now :(
Caught a cold and was coughing away since yesterday. Thought that it was just a itch nose which would go away after a while but it continued throughout the day.
Hmm not sure if she has caught the germs from XP? Anyway, he brought her to Dr Ho and was given some medication for cough, flu, a drip for block nose and for her eyes. Total damage = $55
Hope that she would be well soon....luckily no fever and she still wants to go to school!

Things Required by the School
While Little Arielle is busy learning and playing in school, parents are not spared of doing nothing! The first assignment that we were given was to provide 1 4R baby pic and 1 4R current pic of Little Arielle + 1 toothbrush and a tumbler.
Because of this, we had to specially go down to Parkway to develop the photos and buy the required items.
We went out at about 5pm+ in my FIL's car. He dropped us at Parkway as he was on his way home after spending about 5 hours at my place!
1st thing we did was to send the photos for developing, followed by doing some window shopping, dinner and at last, bought Little Arielle's tumbler and the last item - toothbrush at NTUC. Got all the necessary errands done and we were on our way home.
Actually Little Arielle had mild cold and slight cough. I was quite worried that she might not be able to make it for school tomorrow. Hmm, was this caused by her wet bed or is it due to her chickenpox vaccine? Hopefully, she is well enough for school tomorrow. Gave her a dose of the fever medication before sending her off to bed.
While she slept, I quickly went to search for the sticker name which we made for Little Arielle 3 years ago! I still remembered that it was made because we were lazy to write her name and our names on the Bengawan Solo voucher (to be given during her full month celebration). As such, we had our names printed on stickers and it was so much easily to paste than to write! There were a lot of leftovers and I was so happy that I finally found it today after searching for almost 2 days for it!

尿床了
Little Arielle did not want to put on diapers for her afternoon nap. She promised her daddy that she would wake up if she wants to pee. Apparently I have doubt for her words. But since her daddy was confident that she can make it, I just let her be.
About 2 hours + later, I suddenly hear cries from Little Arielle's room and out she came, with tears rolling down her cheeks. She was not wearing her panties and we immediately understood what has happened.
She was guilty that she has wetted her bed. My FIL was around and he quickly took her mattress and blanket and sun it under the scorching sun. XP quickly brought Little Arielle to wash up and consoled her.
Hee hee my guess is right! And yes, what happened to the waterproof mattress that Mummy Me promised to buy? Opps, it's still in my shopping list!

Live Alarm Clock
Right now, I don't have to worry about over-sleeping over the weekends. Hmm, in fact I shouldn't be worrying cos it's weekend! Weekend is the time for us to sleep in since we have to get up so early during weekdays. However, our live alarm clock aka Little Arielle doesn't give us such a chance.
She would come in before 9am and says 天亮了! Well, it's an indication that we gotta wake up! Thanks....live alarm!

The Chickenpox Jab!
We did not go home straight after school. Instead, Little Arielle was brought to Dr Ho's clinic to take her chickenpox jab. Oh yes, it was a jab that we had wanted to let her take in Dec. However, we just din diligently find time to do so. At last, today was the auspicious day to do so!
Did the routine i.e. take temperature, weight and height before seeing Dr Ho. Here's a slideshow taken before her turn!
And....here's the video clip when she's inside Dr Ho's room :)

1st Day in School
Today is the official day that Little Arielle is attending class. The routine is the same this morning i.e. drink milk and get dressed. Only difference is that this time round, she would be wearing her uniform and school shoes. Of course I have to tie up her hair to make sure that she is neat and tidy. And yes, another difference is that she was super fast with her milk drinking. Wat seh, within moments, the whole bottle is finished. Compared with normal days, it was heaven and earth!
It was quite a challenge when it comes to wearing socks. Since young, Little Arielle din really like to put on socks as it would make her feet warm and uncomfortable. After I put on her socks for her, within the next few minutes, she was already making noise and wanted to remove it. Had a hard time convincing her to wear until XP gave in when we were in the bus.
However, Little Arielle promised XP that she would wear it when we are about to reach. Indeed, she kept her promise and wore her socks herself :)
As we were a bit late, we had to walk very fast. Wow, what a rush! Hengz ah....we were in time. It took a while for the teachers to open the door. Once the door is opened, the little ones were brought in one by one by the teacher. Most of them, including Little Arielle walked in happily. Of course, some were still blur and did not know what is going on. There were some who were sobbing away and the teacher had to carry them in. The last two who went in was the worst! One of them was kicking her legs and struggling to come down. The other screamed at the top of her voice! Faintz....I was glad that Little Arielle did not behave in that way when she walked in. However, I was afraid that she would be affected by the other kids and cry along with them. I tried to peep from all angles but did not manage to see anything at all. I was quite worried and wanted to tell the teacher that I want to go in and take a look. But, the parents of the crying kids are not making such request and it seemed ridiculous for me to do so! So, sadly I left after they gathered all the kids and locked the door.
3 hours passed by quickly and I was happy to be able to pick my darling up. Mama and I were there about 10 minutes before class is dismissed. We waited patiently outside the door. Finally, it was opened and what I liked about the school was that they would call out the name of the child at the doorstep and the parent will come forward to "claim" them. This is to ensure the safety of child. Great responsibility of the school!
Anyway, my girl is finally out! Check out the video that I have got! One and only one :)

94 Piece Challenge
Auntie Stef bought Little Arielle a 94 piece jigsaw puzzle a few weeks back. Little Arielle was bugging me over the past few days to open it up for her to play. Her wish is granted today.

Verdict is = Mission failed :( Probably this is a big jump i.e. from 40 pieces to 94 pieces for her and she is losing patience. Perhaps will let her try again some time later :)

It's Crazy!
taking care of a sick man and a young kid. I almost couldn't breathe even though it was just for half a day.
Woke up in the morning, need to feed XP his medication, go out and buy breakfast for him. But before going out, I gotta change my girl out of her pyjamas and get her ready. When she is ready to go, gotta rush to buy breakfast and quickly come back.
Once back, gotta settle XP with his breakfast, followed by Little Arielle's food. Only when both have eaten, it was then my turn to eat. Straightafter I finished my breakfast, I gotta clear up the place, bath Little Arielle and get ready to buy some grocery and lunch.
Had to bring Little Arielle else she would be barking XP at home and deprive him of his rest. Took a bus to Parkway with Little Arielle as I need to get some stuff from NTUC. I found myself to be a superwoman as I was able to carry back 1 tin of 1.8kg milk powder, 5 apples, 1 tube of Yakult, 2 cartons of HL milk, 1 pack of 4 small milo and 1 bottle of mositoriuser. On top of that, I gotta hold on to my packet of porridge + Little Arielle's hand.
The journey from NTUC to the bus stop was torturing! I can feel my arms breaking but I gotta tahan :( Luckily there were empty seats at the bus stop and I can rest my items there for a while. Thank god that there was seat on bus for Little Arielle else I think I gotta perform acrobatics by balancing my items, myself and Little Arielle.
The moment I reached home, put down my stuff, gave XP his medication, made Little Arielle her milk, sort out the groceries, wash the dishes, gave XP his lunch, tuck Little Arielle for her afternoon nap. After all these are done, I am now taking a breather!
After blogging, I gotta hang the laundry, drink some water (damn thirsty), probably eat lunch (if I have the mood), tidy up the place and get ready XP's tea break. Faintz....
One can really die in Singapore and cannot fall sick!

Turn of Events
Just a few hours ago, we were happily watching the live fireworks at the esplanade and welcoming the arrival of a new year ~ 2010. Few hours ago, XP suddenly turned very sick :( I was surfing net in the storeroom when I suddenly heard him coughing very badly. So bad that he attempted to throw up a few times. What was worst was that all these made him feel very giddy.
Without further delay, I brought him to Eastshore hospital for a check. The nurse took his blood pressure and got him to lie on bed. He was given a jab and asked to rest on the bed for a while. Immediately after the jab, he vomitted :(
I guessed he could have felt better after the puke. Anyway, while he was resting, I bought something to eat at Delifrance. Little Arielle was teary when she saw XP lying on the bed. She made me almost drop a tear too. I was so touched when at such tender age, Little Arielle know what is going on. She can understand the meaning of death and I hope this would make her treasure her loved ones and not take things from granted. From time to time, she would hold on to her daddy's hand and helped to cover his blanket. And luckily there was Kungfu Panda showing on HBO which took some attention away from Little Arielle. Else she would be making a lot of noise and kpo-ing around.
The doctor came by to check and XP was still not feeling good. The dizzy spell is still with him. Doctor mentioned that he would give him the medication and put him on a drip to hydrate him. Just as well, since he din eat anything since morning.
The nurse did not do the pricking well the first time and XP's finger was so painful. Sensing that the situation is not right, I requested the nurse to prick the needle on XP's left hand instead. This time round, it was better and he was on the drip. He felt cold constantly and we covered him with the blanket. He was given a stronger dose of medication and while the nurse was injecting it into him, she told us that this cost $120! Faintz....She thought that the doctor would have already told us. Apparently, there was no mention. I jokingly mention that if that is the case, can we extract the medication out?
After XP was given the second pack of drip, his condition does not seem to have improve. The nurse came by and gave him another shot of the medication. I quickly ask if this would cost another $120 and she said it's part of the amount. Phew....I then jokingly asked if we could pack a few shot back hee....
About an hour later, the doctor came and checked on XP. He is still feeling giddy and the doctor suggested to admit him as this is unusual. Most patients with such symptons would have been better when they are given the first shot of medication.
I was worried and asked him what could be the worst sceanario? He mentioned it would either be stroke of the brain or a growth in the ear. Such terms really scare the shit out of me!
I went to see to the admission procedures and really understand what our fellow Singaporeans feel about being sick in Singapore. You can really die and cannot be sick!
The staff told me that I need to place a deposit of $3k. General stay of 2 days would incur an estimated amount of $3k. Of course this would vary, depending on the treatment received during the stay. Faintz....this is really a killer! I got a bit worried cos both of us don't have any medical insurance except for that useless MSH. But, to ensure the safety of XP, there is no other choice but to admit him.
After the procedure is done, I told XP about the estimated cost. He was shocked too and requested not to be admitted. I told him that if he is really not well, he should let the doctor have a thorough check. He mentioned that he is much better and from his look, I share the same sentiments. At least, he can talk more and can walk on his own compared to the situation when we first came in.
He told the doctor that probably the effect of the medication was slower, that's why he was still unwell earlier on. In any case, we are staying nearby and would return if his condition gets bad.
After getting his prescription and paying $400+ for the 5 hours stay there, we left the hospital.
We packed food home and XP went to sleep after that. My whole day is just gone. What a start of the year :( I hope that XP would recover soon....
