Birthday Surprise Part 3

Mummy Me was cracking my head trying to think where to get Disney Princesses balloons for Little Arielle. Hee....must be thinking that I am full of pattern hor :) Just want to make her feel really happy on her birthday! And I knew that the balloons will definitely do the trick!

Tried to get it online but they require purchases above $xx before they will deliver FOC. I wasn't able to get that quantity and I din want to go so far just to get a few balloons. In the end, I asked mama to help me check around Tampines shopping malls and I also posted my query in FB.

FB is indeed powerful! Got a reply from Wendy Tan asking me to check out the Mickey store at Tampines 1. Wanted to go yesterday but was held up with work. In the end, I took the chance to check it out at the store this evening while waiting for my turn at SingTel.

Yes! They really have it! Our eyes just set on this ->

Even though it was a bit pricey, we just couldn't like other designs. So XP would be getting this as her birthday gift. The lady said that helium would be provided FOC. I just need to bring the balloons and the receipt on the day that I needed this service.

Oh mine, everything just falls in place nicely! How wonderful :)

The Perfect Dress for the Perfect Occasion!

Little Arielle told me last night that the birthday kid was allowed to wear their home clothes to school. I verified with mama and was told that it was the truth. Was thinking what dress should I let her wear and immediately, this dress came to my mind ->

Yes! I'm sure Little Arielle will look great on her birthday :)

Busy Coordination Day

Since I did not receive any email from the agar agar cake seller, I decided to sms the person instead. His reply was rather prompt and we initially agreed on the delivery between 10am to 10.15am.

I have placed order for the Little Mermaid design and it cost $45 (including delivery). Just when I though that I have done all that is required, I received a call from Mrs Chan. She explained that they were unable to accede to my request of celebrating Little Arielle at my preferred timing of 10.30am as they have a fixed schedule to follow. The only time slot available is 9.15am where the kids will have their refreshments.

Oh no....now need to check if Sweetest Moments can allow me to collect my cupcakes earlier and if the agar agar cake can be delivered before 9am.

Sweetest Moments told me that they can allow me to collect 9am which I don't think I can rush back to school in 15 mins. Asked if I could arrange to collect at 8.45am and the staff asked me to call back on Mon to check. Arrgghh why can't they be more customer centric? It's just another 15 mins earlier!

For the cake wise, the person can't deliver before 9am on the actual day and suggested to deliver a day earlier. Well, no choice lor....

Hope that Sweetest Moments can allow me to collect at 8.45am....

Here Comes the Pillow Case!

Wat biangz! The pillow cases that Mummy Me has ordered almost 1.5 months back has finally arrived, except for XP's one. Yeah....gonna change the pillow covers for Little Arielle and me this weekend.

It's gonna be a good night's sleep and hope that XP's one will arrive soon!

Cupcake Order

Lazy Mummy Me has finally placed the cupcake order for Little Arielle's birthday. It was a task that I was supposed to do last week but come to think again, it's good to be slow too cos they just had a promotion, where I would get $2 off if I self-collect my cupcakes!

Yeah!! Save $2 hahaha....typical auntie hor!

Next is to probably order a small cake that we can cut with my family on her bday night :) and probably a jelly cake for her school's celebration too :) since Feli Jie-jie says it's pitiful for a kid to celebrate birthday without blowing the candles :)

P.S: Aiyah the cupcakes need to order 2 boxes to enjoy the discount :(

Another Spend $$ Opportunity?

Just received an email from Paul saying that they have a Disney Princess Magazine Anniversary happening from 28 Sep to 03 Oct. Not sure what is it but I will definitely drop by either on Sat or Sun to take a look.

Think there is some make over package on sale too. Does it mean I'm gonna spend $$ again! Oh no....

JIT

Yes, it meant Just In Time! JIT for what leh? For Little Arielle's puke! She happily ate peanuts during dinner and that must have made her cough worst! Already told her not to eat it but she just insisted on doing so!

In the end, she was coughing so badly and I went to take a look at her. She told me that she wanted to puke and I quickly brought her to the washroom. Hengz ahh....she managed to puke it into the toilet bowl. Else I gotta clean up her mess lor!

Interesting Find @ City Square Mall

This is our second visit to City Square Mall and we discovered something new today. That is the FOC kiddy cab ride! You just need to pay a $10 refundable deposit and let the staff keep a copy of your IC. There is no limitation to the number of hours which you can use the kiddy cab.

Oh....this is so exciting! Without hesitation, we did the necessary paperwork and Little Arielle was happily enjoying her ride in no time. This is indeed a great way to promote the mall! At least, kids will enjoy window shopping as much as their parents.

They will not complain of tired feets and at the same time, they can have fun in their ride. Best of all, they can eat and drink at the same time. We just have to push them around. How shiok....this really made our shopping trip a happy one :) And, we will be back for more!

Here's the pic of Happy Little Arielle ->

Yeah....Managed to Xchange

Tried to do an exchange of the BloomB dress at the Tampines outlet few days back but their designs were so limited. In the end, I decided to get back the previous pink dress that I like and asked the staff to check for its availability at the Vivo City outlet.

Even though they did not have a new piece, at least still got the last piece. So I requested to reserve it for me and I will exchange it today. So happy that I finally got my hands on it :) It's still fated aferall!

'Reply'

Though it's a simple word, I am just fascinated when Little Arielle knows how to use it. Hmm....is it because the time spent with her is too little until I am amazed with such words that she use.

To mama, she might not even take it to heart.

Whichever the case may be, I'm just happy that she added another word to her list of vocab :)

Get Out!

That's the exact words that XP used on Little Arielle!

The storeroom is already very hot and she just wants to squeeze in with us. Worst of all, she dropped my watch and that really made me mad!

Sensing that I was frustrated, XP yelled at Little Arielle and sent her out of the storeroom. She ran to the living room to cry.

After a while, XP asked me to check what is she doing. I asked her to come over and she din want to. XP walked over and wanted to carry her but she ran away cos she thought that he is going to beat her.

In the end, she was happily carried in her daddy's arms :) Naughty gal!

That's A Good One!

XP told Little Arielle that he loves her and guessed what! Little Arielle asked him why did he scold her and beat her when he said that he loved her....

Steady leh....XP was dumbfounded hee :)

I Hate Craft Work!

The thing that I am afraid when it comes to Little Arielle's school holiday is nothing but the craft work that I would be required to do. That's because my art sucks and it therefore would take a long time for me to do and of course, most of the time, the task is pushed to XP. Although it says to do together with the kids as a form of bonding session, I still feel that Little Arielle is more of a hindrance than of help....

Just when I thought that I can leave everything to XP, he suddenly din want to do because he said that there isn't any coloured paper and it would not be nice if we were to use other paper to substitute! Rubbish lor! Are artists supposed to have weird requirements?

*XP was helping initially....* - Uploaded on 15 Sep 2010

So in the end, instead of him helping, I did it myself!

Elmo Show!

Got 4 free tickets for the Sesame Street show cos I subscribed to 3 years of Motherhood magazine in Jun 10. Luckily managed to persuade Daddy to come along, else, 1 ticket will be wasted.

It was already 7pm and the indoor stadium was less than 1/3 filled. There wasn't any interesting merchandise for us to take a second look. Worst of all, there isn't much food available too!

Anyway, the show started with probably less than 1/2 of the audience filled. When the show was already into half of it, the stadium is still so empty! Proves that not many people are interested siaz....At least, Little Arielle wasn't interested lor. I think the character does make a difference. She knows Barney so well that she can just start dancing even though she is hearing a particular song for the first time. But when it comes to Sesame Street, she can't be bothered at all. Worst of all, she was already restless before half time! Faintz!

So during the break, we thought of buying something to eat so that it can keep Little Arielle occupied for the next half of the show. Wanted to get hotdogs but I don't think I can swallow down a normal hotdog that cost me $8. I can easily get 8 of it at Ikea at this price! The silly snapple cost $5 lor. Bo pian, got 2 bottles and I feel that my $10 can get so many other things outside! The food is really ridiculously expensive!

Finally survived the remaining half hour. Well, can't really say that the show is boring but probably we are not so familiar with Sesame Street. Their backdrop is indeed amazing, so much better than Barney! But too bad....

Faintz....

Guessed what! The US flower girl arrived today at 5pm+! Arrgghh win liaoz lor! Why din it arrive earlier! Then I don't have to waste my $80+ for that Bloom B dress! No use crying over spilt milk....I shall go and exchange for the pink one that I wanted! Yeah!!

So let's talk about the US flower girl dress! Wow, it's really a beauty! So sweet looking until I din regret buying it for Little Arielle! The size just fits nicely! Luckily I choose a size down, else it might be too big for her. But the downside is that she can probably wear a few times only, unless she remains slim and slender :)

Hee....she will be the other centre of attraction tomorrow! I hope :)

"Tia Tia Kei"

We specially went to Vivo straight after Little Arielle's class so that I can get her flower girl dress for Jenny's wedding tomorrow. Yes....it's very last minute cos the dress from US is not here and I don't even know if it is going to arrive today. So, in order not to take the risk, I had to buy another one for her.

So we went to Bloom B and spent almost 45 mins to 1 hr just deciding between 2 dresses. 1 was a pure white dress but simple design. The other is a half white and half pink dress which is very sweet. On one hand, I wanted her to wear the pure white dress cos it resemble more of flower girl dress compared to the other. In addition, Jenny would prefer it to be white too. But on the other hand, the pink one is really so much nicer than the white. Anyway, Little Arielle wanted the white dress over the pink one. That really caught me by surprise. So, I just had to buy that. Even though it's a bit dirty on one side of it. But it is not visible. I also added in a tiara handband for her. Both items cost me over $80! Heart pain siaz....

5th Lesson @ Impact

So fast and it's the 5th lesson already. Paul briefed us today on the upcoming Taka fashion show that is happening around 2nd/3rd week of Oct. Wow, it might clash with our Bangkok trip leh. I really hoped that it will not clash and Little Arielle gets selected. Hmm, 2 wishes at one go. Praying hard that both can materialise!

Anyway, he said that the photos that Little Arielle took recently would be presented to the customer for their selection. Hopefully the client can take a second look at Little Arielle and probably choose her :)

Then Paul told us about the situation on the day of fitting if the kids are selected for the fashion show. It usually starts at 4pm and will end at 8pm. There will be 10 sets of clothes to be changed into and every set needs to have a pic of it taken. There will be 25 kids who will be involved. So you can imagine how xiong is it leh....In addition, need to ensure that the hangers are not lost and we don't dirty the outfit. Sounds stressful siaz....but it should be an interesting experience....

The Barney Experience @ Expo

Today is the day for the Barney show and Little Arielle was quite excited as she kept telling us last night that we are going to see Barney today! Since the show is in the afternoon, I made her take her afternoon nap earlier so that she would not be cranky during the show.

Just when she was already lying on the bed, she suddenly ran to me and asked me to help her with her mucus. I thought it was a one-off thingy but realised that the drip was quite bad. I was worried that she is too sick to go for the show later. So I quickly gave her medication, did whatever I can and hoped that she can fall asleep. Thank god, my request was heard and she managed to sleep for 2 hours.

Got a bit cranky when she woke up but she was soon over the moon when we told her that we are going to the Barney Show!

It was very crowded at the Expo. There were a lot of parents with their little kids waiting to enter. We quickly went in and Little Arielle fell in love with the spinning torch. XP agreed to let her purchase it :)

Shortly after the purchase, the show started. Little Arielle was very excited and started screaming! Best of all, she din want to sit on her seat but rather stand on it to dance. Aiyo, really buay tahan her leh! But I was glad that she really enjoyed herself and love the show so much. It was indeed money well-spent....expect for XP and me. For him, I guessed he felt bored. For me, half of the time, my hands need to be the railing so that Little Arielle won't fall off the chair with her dance!

Hee....after the show, we had a nice dinner at the claypot stall in Bedok. Havent been there for a while and really missed the food.

After the sumptuous meal, we went back and Little Arielle was soon in slumberland :)

The Critical Moment!

Decided to check the US Postal Services site to see what is the status of Little Arielle's dress. Saw the following ->

Your item arrived in SINGAPORE at 11:37 am on September 09, 2010.

So today is a PH then would they deliver tomorrow? Please do so else I really have to buy another dress tomorrow liaoz :(

I Gave Up....

Been waiting indefinitely and there is still no sign of the dress. I think I can give up the idea of receiving it before Sunday :(

Argghhh this is so upsetting! First, cannot wear the nice dress specially bought for this occasion and second, I gotta burn another hole in my pocket!!

:(

Pro Photo Shoot

XP and I specially took leave today for Little Arielle's portfolio shoot. It started raining early in the morning and we made an effort to go out earlier to avoid any unexpected jams. We reached around 10.30am and the earlier model has not completed her shoot yet. I think we waited around half an hour before it was our turn. The little girl's pic was so beautiful that I was worried that Little Arielle's one would not turn out nice.

When it was Little Arielle's turn, I was told to showcase all the clothes for her. Thought that the shoot would be for a few sets of clothes but later realised that only 1 set is required. Arrgghhh, spent extra again liaoz lor! The reason to bring so many sets is because Paul wants to see what looks nice on Little Arielle. We tried the first set and he wasn't satisfied. So tried the second set and she was ready to go.

This is what I call pro photo shoot! Paul actually made an effort to coax Little Arielle. I could hear her laughter clearly and that set my heart at ease. Initially, I was still worried that she would be stiff.

The pic turned out quite well. Even though the little girl in front of her looked even better. But nevermind, she will still be my sweetiepie!

Shiok Shopping Spree!

Perhaps I should say thanks to Paul, for kinda of 'rejecting' the sets of clothes that I brought for Little Arielle. Although he did not reject all, I just suddenly felt that the sets of clothes really suck(arrgghh, I'm doubting my coordination techniques!). Furthermore, the sets of clothes that the other mummies showcased seemed to be so much nicer! Since it's for Little Arielle's portfolio pic, I decided that I should really get something nice for her. Hmm....at such times, physical stores were definitely more appealing!

So we went shopping this evening at Vivo City as I knew they have part of a level that sells lots of kids' clothings! Boy, I did not regret going and was super satisfied with my loot! What was more shiok was that I had a 30% discount voucher for Pumpkin Patch and I was happily grabbing the clothes there!

Din realise that my little darling looked so beautiful! So I bought stuff from Mothercare, Giordano Kids and Pumpkin Patch! Cost me almost $200 for all the loot. Told myself that I would need to work to sustain this high maintenance gal....But I'm sure she would look great during the day of shoot and that made every spending worth it :)

1st Catwalk Lesson

Today is the first lesson for catwalk. While Little Arielle is attending her class, Paul took a look at the outfit that we brought for Little Arielle's shooting on 8th Sep. Hmm....not all pass wor. Need to go shopping for clothes later liaoz! Thereafter, he briefed us on what is expected if there is a fashion show coming up. There would be 4 events that need to be attended. (1) audition - where the child model would be presented to the client for selection (2) fitting - if the child is selected, they would have to go through the fitting session to ensure that the clothes fit well (3) rehearsal - there would be a rehearsal session just a few hours before the show (4) hairdo and make-up - other than the clothes, this is the next important thing in line which is also done a few hours before the show.

He mentioned that there would be a Taka show coming up in Oct and he would be choosing a few kids from Little Arielle's class to go for the show. Hmm....I wonder if Little Arielle stands a chance? I sure hope she does :)

Anyway, another thing that I learnt is that the parents of a child model need to be very free. Cos their schedule can be very impromptu. I really don't know how to handle this part of it leh!! Don't think bosses can be so understanding lor. Anyway see how ba....havent even get her first job wor!

And yah...next week need to bring jacket, hat and sunglass. Think Little Arielle doesn't have a nice cap/hat. Probably can see if I can buy one too either today or tomorrow!

The Choosen Sets

It really took me a while to coordinate 4 sets of clothes for Little Arielle's photoshoot. We are supposed to show the sets to Paul later so that he can help us do a check to see if it would turn out nice on photos.

Arrgghhh....it's so difficult to match the clothes. Realised that Little Arielle doesn't have much denim stuff, let alone clothes that fit her just nice. Bo pian, just have to make do with whatever there is now and see what Paul says later....

Daily Needs

Like Father, Like Daughter!

Cannot stand both of them! Was talking to Little Arielle and she doesn't seem to be paying attention to what I said. So I asked her to repeat what I have told her and she was able to do so + must suan me by saying that 听是用耳朵听的吗!

Faintz....this is the exact same words that XP would tell me when he did not maintain eye contact with me when I talk!!!

Nice Pink Ribbons

Little Arielle got nice pink ribbons from one of the jie jie at the bakery. She happily got mama to tie it for her and her precious bear bear!

Status Update

Mummy Me bought a nice beautiful flower girl dress for Little Arielle last Tue. There has been no updates since then and I got very worried because she needs to wear the dress on 12th Sep.

Decided to send the seller an email yesterday and have received a reply this morning informing me that they would be shipping it out by this week. Stressed man....don't know how long is the shipping from US gonna take? Are they going by air or by sea? If by sea, I am dead!
