Start of Scrapbooking Journey

Mummy Me has been wanting to try Scrapbooking for the longest time but somehow, there was either no time or no opportunity! Finally, I had the chance to do so today, within office hours because it was one of the recreation activity organized by my company.

I just felt so proud with my piece of work! Something that is really done by me only and hee....it looks not bad too! Even XP says that it's swee :p That really motivates me! Hopefully I can keep up with this expensive hobby. Will shop for paper and the relevant tools next week! Yippee....

8 Tins Of Milk Milk!

Yes...this is what we lugged back this evening! Managed to get it at the same price of $50.80 per tin after using the discount coupon which expires today :p Wanted to get more tins cos I have 12 coupons actually but XP did not want to fork out another $200 of cash cos we got the 8 tins using our NTUC vouchers. Moreover, he felt that 8 tins is way too sufficient for Little Arielle. Hmm....I think can tahan for at least half a year ba :p And we also almost wiped out all the available tins at the store hahaha....

Looking forward to the next discount!! When ah??

Horrible Night!

Everything was fine after dinner except that Mummy Me had the flu bug bugging me :( After reaching home, the only thing that I wanna do is to quickly take my medication and go to bed.

I was wakened by my friend's message at about 12am+ and thereafter, I found myself to be super awake! Probably because the weather is so hot and I just couldn't take it. Hmm the medication kinda work and my nose doesn't feel so wet already.

That being the case, I decided to on the aircon cos I realised that Little Arielle was very grouchy too. I think she must have felt the heat too. But that seems to be the beginning of trouble :( The aircon din managed to settle her down. She was very cranky and we suspected that she had a nightmare because she kept asking for whiteboard cos she wanted to draw something! Faintz....that's like 2am lor!

In the end, I carried her in my arms to pacify her cos she was crying away and was glad that she calmed down after a while. Suddenly, she felt very hot and realised that she got fever out of the blue. Wahhh....quickly fed her her medication and she went to bed. I accompanied her the whole night and did not really sleep soundly.

Woke up this morning and tested her temperature to be 38.9! Ahhhh....quickly pasted the Fever Patch over her forehead and sigh....don't think she can attend her class today! My money going down the drain! So sad....

Yah....this was the horrible result that Little Arielle recently got for her work in school. I don't recall performing that badly when I was young or was it XP?. Sigh....what's wrong with her? It is because she really lacks the teaching from home? If so, perhaps really gotta see how to spend more time to teach her siaz!

She saw me looking through her work and I told her that I'm disappointed with her performance. When asked if she would do better the next time, she said she will....I certainly hope that she will lor! The most obvious thing that she could have got it right was to write the numbers correctly. She could have easily got another 3 points if she did not write them in the mirror image....

Milk Powder Discount Coupon

Woohoo....check out the discount coupons that we got! 1 week back, we have already bought 3 tins of milk powder with the same coupons cut out from Straits Times.

Mummy Me happened to chance upon this coupon again in Today's newspapers. Was so happy about it and went asking around for colleagues to give me if they happened to have the papers and do not need it.

And yes....I managed to get 8 pieces :) XP got 1 only....lousy him :p Will be buying it soon cos the offer gonna end on 17 Aug!

1st Visit to A Chinese Physician

Little Arielle's cough virus has been with her for the past 1.5 years. Sadly, western medication does not seems to help kill the virus thoroughly :( She would be okie for a few days and thereafter, cough for a few weeks. It was especially bad at night and our hearts go out to her when she couldn't get a good night's sleep.

Have been wanting to try out Chinese medication instead since western medication apparently can't do the job. Finally, Mummy Me managed to find out about this Chinese physician in Kembangan which is famous for treating kids. Have decided to give it a try and hope that she would be cured completely this time round!

We reached there early at about 1.15pm and our queue number was 11. Since they are only opened at 2pm, I took Little Arielle to Kembangan plaza and we lingered around the area until 1.55pm.

When we reached the clinic again, wahhh....the place is already swarmed with people! Done the registration and we waited patiently for our turn. Luckily my queue number was good. As such, the wait was less than half an hour.

The physician heard her breathing and checked her heartbeat. She said that Little Arielle's airways were sensitive.

She has to abstain from the following food items ->
1. Cold drinks
2. Chicken
3. Birds Nest
4. Egg white and eggs related products i.e. bread, cakes etc
5. Prawns
6. Crabs
7. And of course other heaty or spicy food

Faintz lor! Cannot eat eggs related products means she doesn't really have much choice of food left. Poor thing! But what to do....the physician says that she has a lot of phelgm and if she continues to feed on such food. She would not recover! we just had to be strict this time round!

After the examination, the physician recommended her to go through 'tui na' and I sat beside her while she is being treated by another physician. The whole 'tui na' process took about 20 minutes. It included her palm, stomach, face and back.

After the session, we went to collect her medication. The pharmacist took out a big bottle of black liquid medicine and medicine powder. From far, the medicine smell is already very pungent! I am scratching my head, wondering if Little Arielle can take it or not! The damage cost $53 and we need to go for review next Saturday.

Back home, I prepared Little Arielle's medication after her feed. 1 packet of medicine powder to be mixed with the black liquid medicine.

Little Arielle stirred on her own and to my surprise, she finished it without vomitting! I am so proud of this little girl! Thank god that she can take the bitter and pungent smell. Else I would have a hard time coaxing her. Hopefully, it can work this time round :)

50kg of Newspapers!

Mummy Me has been collecting newspapers for the past few months and it really made me feel like garung guni!

We had wanted to go Ikea for the longest time to exchange the papers for Smales points but somehow, we always had something on on Saturdays.

Finally, managed to squeeze time today to get it done! So happy about it because finally, my workstation and house is clear of newspapers :)

Checking Out the Mothercare Casting

It's the first day of the casting today and because Little Arielle has her class in Forum too, Mummy Me went to take a quick peek before her class ends.

Hmm seems like I can kinda of purchase up to $120 worth of items. Shall decide that she would go for the shoot next week.

Although the chance is super slim, but she will probably get a pic back as memory :)

Nothing beats having a good experience right :p

When You Din Look For It....

It appeared!!

Yah! The denim shorts which I have been searching in Little Arielle's wardrobe for the longest time made its appearance today!

Faintz....when I am not looking for it, it just appeared in front of me lor!

Hmm....now she has 2 denim shorts of the same exact design. Luckily the size is different. Shall pass the smaller size to mama so that she can wear it to her CMA class :p

$120! Should or Should Not?

Chanced upon the Mothercare Ad where they are looking for models between 0 - 6 years old. To join, you need to spend $120 on their merchandise. Hmm quite a fair bit leh! Should I go for it to let her have the exposure or should I save up the $$?

More Benefits?

Hee....I was elated when XP got Little Arielle to show me this pair of tickets which someone in his grassroot committee gave him. Hee....2nd time that there's some beneifts joining the committee. Anyway, it's not just me that's was happy, Little Arielle was jumping away with joy.

Then I asked her, how many tickets are there? She suddenly turned grumpy because she knew that there were only 2 and she won't be able to go hee!

XP quickly comforted her by saying that he would get another ticket :p

First to Complete

Little Arielle told me proudly that she was the first to complete her abacus work IB class and because of this, she was given biscuits as reward. Sadly, she said that she actually did not get everything right! Faintz! Got speed but no accuracy also no use right!

Approval Letter for CDA Account

I was shocked to receive the approval letter that early when it was previously communicated that it's gonna be 3 weeks later. Just as well....I would be able to open the account earlier and get the payment. But first, I must go and count her dowry cos I'm gonna deposit those coins in, else Gong Gong will come after me :p

First Chopsticks Attempt

Caught Little Arielle in action when she managed to pick up pieces of food with the chopsticks! Was proud that she could do it because I did not train her with the training chopsticks. Sigh....talking about it, I had wanted to buy a pair for her but kept forgetting to do so. Sorry dear :p

The Last Glimpse of KTM Tracks

It has been one of Mummy Me's greatest regret that I did not managed to take the last ride on the KTM. The KTM holds great memories for Mummy Me because it was one of the most memorable trip that we had via this authentic transport.

I still remembered that we took it when I was in secondary school to KL. It was a night ride and we had the sleeping suite. Every bed was separated by a piece of cloth which we can called it the curtain. I was sleeping on the lower deck. The windowns were wide open and the strong breeze just blew right into my face. It was pitch dark but the feeling was just great!

I had wanted to revive this feeling but it was just too late. We initially planned to take a ride on KTM in Mar this year with Little Arielle but somehow, the plan just din materialise.

Thereafter, with more work and other holiday plans, we couldn't squeeze out any empty slots for KTM :( As a result, we can just hear from the news announcement on the closure of the Tanjong Pagar station on 30 Jun.

But I was glad that they have allowed the public to go on the tracks by 31 Jul. And so, the clock starts ticking as Mummy Me tried to find suitable time slots to visit the tracks as I did not want to have another regret!

It was really difficult! I realised that both XP, me and Little Arielle were so busy! Of course, during the initial stage, it was XP who din really express interest in visiting it. I had even wanted to go on my own with Little Arielle via the public transport. But somehow, that seems difficult as I wasn't familiar with that area and that area was quite remote.

It was only on the last day before the track was closed to the public that we visited it! Boy was I excited and happy that we made it before it's final closure.... Enjoy the beautiful pics that I have taken!

NDP Preview Tickets!!

In my memory, XP and I only went for NDP preview once and that was many years back. The tickets then were obtained because we got it from one of my good friends who had some connection to get it. Thereafter, they started the balloting system and from then on, we have been trying our luck every year. Though there are people who said that it's more comfy to watch from home and you can see the whole view, somehow, the atmosphere there is different :)

Therefore, we prayed and hoped every year that we would get the tickets but it's year after year of disappointment :( Apparently, the balloting this year did not get our names too and I really wondered why are there people who are so lucky to get it a few times!!

Have already consoled myself about it and was very happy this evening when XP told me that he was given 2 tickets by PA for this Sat's preview!! Wow!! I was so excited. He was nice to go and ask for another one so that our family of 3 can go together. Hee....the person was so nice to give him another one. So in the end, we had 4 tickets!! Yeah!! I am so happy and definitely looking forward to the show this Saturday!

It's Officially Off!

I went chasing for an answer with the teacher whether the piano lesson tonight is gonna be confirmed. Shortly after, I received a call from the school where they told me that it's off because the teacher doesn't want to wait 1hr+ for the next lesson to start. While I was angry, I also kinda understand the feeling of waiting.

So in the end, I just gotta accept it and wait for my refund to come! At the same time, will probably explore more options!

No Communication?

Received a SMS from Little Arielle's future piano teacher and was rather annoyed with what she said! She asked me to come earlier for her lesson i.e. either before 4.30pm or 7.30pm because she claimed that her students were unable to change their lesson time. Please leh....it took her so long to check on the schedule and she is only informing me less than 1 day before her lesson! I have already told the liaison person that I can only attend if the class is 7.30pm. The person has already made arrangement and told me that the lesson would be 7.30pm. Because of this confirmation, I quickly went to make my payment.

Now the teacher tells me otherwise :( Arrghhh super pissed man! Anyway, I have already told her that if nothing can be done, I will withdraw her from the class and she better REFUND me!

I would then wait for Dawn to come to Spore and she can teach Little Arielle instead!

Work Life Balance

Hahaha....is there really such a thing called work life balance? Just read an article by my colleague and found it most amusing :p She said that to plan a get-together session with her sec school mates took them 2 years before it really happened.

The next sentence is most true -> The greatest regret in life is waking up one day to find that it is too late to do the things you have always wanted to do. Sigh....I think that's gonna be my regret....

Had always dream of being a SAHM. Have more time for my girl and hopefully some personal time for myself. Even not possible, I don't mind to work part time too. But sigh again....it's not the case in reality with so many committments surrounding you :( Work life is such that you have to work minimally 8 - 9 hours a day. At times, that is not enough and work continues into the night :(

Every weekday, by the time we reached home, it's already 8pm+ (almost 9pm) cos we would have dinner at my mom's place first. Take a shower and watch a bit of tv, what's left is almost nothing cos you would probably have to prepare for bed for either ourselves or our little one (else sure would be sleepy the next day in class). At times, would try to 'dong' a bit more and sleep lesser so that I have a little bit more time for myself but in the end, would find myself like a walking zombie the next day. And apparently, there's no time for Little Arielle....Haizzzz....

Hmm when is my dream realising ah? Probably in my dream only....

No Sound For A Moment

My little girl is usually very noisy at home. She kinda of have my traits of talking non-stop. I do find that annoying at times.

Tonight, I was watching my tv program and suddenly, I felt that my surrounding is so quiet. Took a peek and realised that my little darling has dozed off! Guessed she must have been tired from her lesson today.

Just as well....kids afterall need a lot of sleep :)

Balance It Off!

Little Arielle had a bump on her right side of her forehead last Sat while we were at USS. Sigh....Mama told me that she knocked her left side of her forehead and up came another bump. Win liaoz lor....it's now balanced!

Taiji Gal :p

Little Arielle attended her 3rd lesson at CMA today :) Mama told me that the teacher mentioned that she was a bit slow today because new things were taught. Otherwise, she is doing well in other aspects :) Thumbs up! At least she is not crying now like what she did in the last lesson.

In any case, on the way back to Mama's house, Mama told Little Arielle that she is getting fatter because every Tue, she would sit at the coffeeshop and wait for Little Arielle's lesson to be over. While waiting, she would get something to eat. Little Arielle immediately told her that it's not her fault and Mama should blame me because I am the one who asked her to go and attend class. Faintz....she is good at tai-ji leh!

Good Skills Displayed!

Brought Little Arielle for her 3rd lesson today and I was quite scared that she would start crying again. Tried to give in to her requests i.e. follow her into the class and stay with her for a while. Shortly, her teacher came in.

She called Little Arielle Bao Bei and really knows how to make little kids important :) She showed Little Arielle 2 books and told her that one of the books would be read out later. She passed the 2 books to Little Arielle only and wanted her to have the priviledge to choose the book for the teacher to read to the class.

Well....well....Little Arielle was very excited. She took both books, quickly sat down and started flipping through. I was like....Wow....something so simple and yet it worked perfectly. Must really pick up some tips from this teacher! I then told Little Arielle that I would be going off and was 'warned' by the teacher to be the first one to pick her after class. Actually, it's more of 'suan' cos I was super late last week :p

1.5hours passed by fast and I really made it a point to be early this round. I was happy when I saw my smiley princess coming out of the class. Hmm....seems like she is starting to enjoy it. That's great! Cos I won't feel guilty for signing her up for the class!

Gloomy Mummy Me

Mummy Me was feeling lousy and just din want to speak to anyone! Yeah....that includes Little Arielle! Apparently she doesnt seems to know what is going on and kept pestering me a d talking to me. Wahh that really made me annoyed :(. And also gave me a chance to scream at her! Hmm I must say that her tolerance and preservance level is high and she kept coming back to talk to me even though I would ask her to go away I know it's bad of me. But sometimes, we do have bad hair days right? Hopefully it would go away soon!

Got the Denim Shorts :p

Found myself lucky to be able to get the identical denim shorts that was lost from Little Arielle's wardrobe. Was glad that I did not wait for XP to pick me up at Bedok Reservoir and decided to make my way to mama's house instead :)

Passed by Century Square and remembered that they had a Giordano Junior store. Quickly went in, saw it and bought it! The store assistant told me that that was the last piece for that size and yes, there's a discount. So it cost me $29.90 instead of $36. Hee....happy :)

Confirmation of Courses

Was happy that I managed to confirm 2 of Little Arielle's enrichment classes. One for her CMA and the other for the Little School of Big Dreamers.

We went for the trial class at CMA previously and was happy with Little Arielle's learning. Therefore, my mind was set to enroll her for the class. Mama preferred to have a Tuesday class instead of Wednesday but the school does not have anymore vacancy left for the Tuesday class. Have informed the staff that we would go for the Wednesday class first and will switch over once there is a vacancy.

So, we were supposed to go for our first lesson on 29 Jun but because that is also the day that we are going to fly to HongKong (midnight flight), Mama couldn't find time to bring her there. So in the end, we still did not go for the Wednesday class. Managed to call the school today (because they are closed on Monday) and was happy that they have vacancy for the Tuesday class! Yeah! Little Arielle will start her class officially next Tuesday :)

As for the class with Little School of Big Dreamers, I emailed them yesterday to check on the status of vacancy. Was glad to receive their email today informing me that there is vacancy for this Sunday's lesson. Hmm, everything is falling into place naturally. Next, will have to find time to check on her piano lesson. Apparently, the teacher did not call me to arrange for the class! Hmph!

New Luggage Bag!

Have considered for the longest time whether I should get a luggage bag for Little Arielle. Everytime when we travel, she wants to kpo and help us with our luggage. At times, she would also ask why she doesn't have one especially when she saw kids either of her same age or even younger carrying one. I missed the last round when one of my colleagues was collating the order. Actually, I wasn't really sure at that time whether to get it or not.

But as we went for more window shopping and I kept seeing the same luggage selling online, I decided to get one for her. Afterall, you are only a child once! If I have the means, I should probably buy things which will make her happy :p Somehow, I think it is also fated. I tried to get in touch with the seller which my colleague got the luggage from, apparently, the price wasn't that attractive at $89 and I had to self-collect. Then, I saw a shop in Forum selling it with 10% discount but needs to pay with HSBC card. Somehow, I missed that too :( But hee....I was lucky when I chanced upon a seller, selling at SMH @ $87 and offers free delivery for purchases $90 and above. And so, I added a saddle bag for her and that simple bag costed me $30!!

The items were delivered today and the person was kind enough to allow COD. Mama thought that the saddle bag was free! Faintz!

Missing Clothes!

Even though Little Arielle has lots of clothes, Mummy Me can still remember what she has! Apparently, I can't find one of her denim shorts and 1 bumble bee tee. I wonder where they have gone to....

Hacker!!

Around 1 - 2 weeks ago, Little Arielle managed to hack XP's iPhone, and was happily grinning away! Eversince, I have been cautious with my pw and guess what! She still managed to break the code today! Hmm left handed more brainy or she's good at peeping?

Good Service!

Trial Class @ CMA

Had to drag myself out of my comfy bed at 7.30am cos Mummy Me has made an appointment for her to attend the trial class @ CMA today :)

Finally, was out of the house at 8.15am. Reached the school at about 8.30am and the teachers were already ready. Little Arielle was the first student and I went into the classroom with her. The teacher was friendly and she was patient with Little Arielle. I stayed in the classroom for about 5 minutes and left shortly when I saw that Little Arielle was kinda settled down :)

Had a hearty chat with the counsellor and was surprised that her son at 3.5 years old has already gone for 4 - 5 types of classes! Hmm....seems like Little Arielle is lagging behind such a fair bit! But start late is better than no start :p

I came back for Little Arielle 1.5hrs later and the teacher gladly showed me what has been taught during the class as well as her progress. Hmm....seems like she is doing very well just on her first lesson. Best of all, she said that she likes the class as well as the teacher! That's great! If so, most probably I will be signing her up for the class....

A Bigger Hole In My Pocket!

This time round, the spending is not on clothes. It's basically my investment for Little Arielle's future! Have signed her up for English and Mandarin classes and finally received confirmation that her seat is confirmed! Just her Mandarin class alone, it cost $800 for 2 terms! That's about $40 per lesson! These people really know how to make $$! I sure hope that Little Arielle will benefit from it. Now need to check on the cost for her English class liaoz! Sigh....where to get more $$ huh?

CMA - Mental Arithmetic

Popo has been pestering Mummy Me to enroll Little Arielle for abacus class so that it can train her brain and she would be able to do mental sums fast. Finally, I found out from my friend that her son is in such class and got her to recommend :)

Today, I found time to give a call and have arranged for a trial class for her this Sat. It cost $5 and the session is for 1.5hrs. Thought that it's a good deal for a trial class cos the actual cost is $28. Per term will be $280 for 10 lessons. If everything is okie, I will register her for it liaoz.

Hopefully she likes the class this Saturday :) And next up will be piano lessons for her :p and I also took the chance to send a reminder email to Julia Gabriels and Little School of Big Dreamers to check on the status of my application.

If all gets approved at the same time, wahhh I gonna spend big bucks on it liaoz!

Competiton Day 2011....

Mummy Me specially took leave today because Little Arielle is participating in the Little Miss Glamourous! She got into the finals last year and I was hoping that she can do it again this year cos she won't be able to participate next year as she would be out of the age range!

It was very rush for me even though I was on leave. Sigh....seems like I still have problem with time management! When I reached mama's house, it was already 4.45pm and competition is gonna start at 6pm. Mama quickly tied up her hair while I iron her dress. Spiltting of work helps and we were out of the house at 5.15pm. Decided to take a cab and heaven is on our side when we got a cab in less than 5 minutes.

Soon....it was time for her to be up on stage. Those contestants before her, some were very good while others were too shy and got off the stage in less than 1 min. Little Arielle became scared and wanted me to accompany her up on stage. Sigh....it's been so long and she is still afraid? Thought that her modelling has helped to build up her confidence? Seems like long way to go.... Anyway, managed to persuade her to go up alone....

The results were out in a while and as expected, she din make it to the finals. Though I'm disappointed but nevermind, at least her consolation prize this round is so much better than what she got last year - catering voucher from Four Seasons (which we did not use after all).
