Donation Time

Called the clinic in the afternoon and was asking if I can just buy the cough medication off the counter. Cheh, the nurse a bit attitude lor! Said that the medication gotta be approved by PD. If not, then my girl will have to see the doc. Wat biangz, that is as good as bringing her there. The initial intention is to go straight to buy the medication after work. So right now, this is not feasible and we decided to bring Little Arielle along to make our donation to "Baby & Child Clinic."

Anyway, we were luckier today as we were the 2nd patient in the queue. Dr Ho was listening carefully to Little Arielle's lungs and she can hear the wheezing sound in her lungs. Wat seh, that sounds serious leh! Thought it was just some common cough that she has got. She was asked to breathe in the "magic gas" which was supposedly to open up the airway so that she can breathe better.

Well, basically this "magic gas" is coming from the nebuliser machine which I remembered seeing this blog entry on Mummy Ching's blog. This made me understand better how that machine actually works. Eunice was afraid that Little Arielle would cry and fuss over the use of this machine but she din. Instead, she sat there patiently breathing through that machine for about 10 minutes. During the procedure, Eunice kept asking Little Arielle if there is any apple or strawberry smell and whether the smell is good or not. Alamak, for a moment, I really thought that that machine can have such smell leh. Cheh, in the end, realised that Eunice was just playing with her and trying to divert her attention. She was surprised that she was so obedient and sat there quietly throughout the "breathing session"! Thumbs up for the good behaviour!

After the nebulisation, Dr Ho have to see Little Arielle again to make sure that the medication has helped in her breathing. Indeed, it has helped to make the airway open up. Dr Ho said that the wheezing sound is not so prominent. She said that if she is not any better, she would have to come tomorrow morning to smell the "magic gas" again!

Gave her 5 types of medication with antibotic. Luckily, the "donated amount" only came up to $79 considering so many procedures and medication given! Right now, come to think of it, it was a good move for that nurse to be so sacarstic! At least, it forced me to let Dr Ho examine Little Arielle and realised that her condition was that bad!

In fact, while she was using that nebuliser machine, I was feeling very "xin tong". Even though that machine did not inflict any pain on her, but the fact that she still has to go through all these just made me very upset! Really empathise those mothers who had to take care of their child who had worst illness or diseases! Kudos to all these mummies and hope that whoever's child is sick will recover asap so that smile will appear on their mummies' face again!

Happy Mother's Day in advance!!
